Got DHL tracking number for my GT94.

Neal just informed me there was a mistake in the assembly line that put orange peel reflectors in the GT94 by mistake.

They will be sending out Smooth reflectors that you can switch yourself if you desire. The hardest part of swapping them is opening the head, it requires a strap wrench to get it open.

After that it is a matter of being really careful to not drop the reflector on the LED’s (holding the light upsidedown and pushing the reflector up carefully while watching is the best option).

I received mine today. Def got an orangepeel reflector. I can’t get the damn thing to turn on though. I’m hoping its just an issue loading this battery carrier. I’m using 8 30q batteries I pulled out of my OG GT.

They are button top cells correct?

Watch the VOB video for the GT94, he shows how to load it, give that a try.

An easy way to know if the cells are the issue is to test the voltage between the button top of the carrier and the outside ring, it should be ~16.8V with fully charged cells.

They ARE button tops, but maybe not the most buttony of button tops. I jacked the set of 30qs from my gt70 with smaller buttons and now the 94 works. It just didn’t like that first set of batteries. Is lumintop sending the polished reflectors automatically or do I need to contact Neal?

Pretty sure it will happen automatically but more details will be released once they have the reflectors I am sure. It will be a bit before they can get another batch made as I understand it.

I got my extremely awesome GT94 on Oct 19, but since there are three topic threads for this light, just on this one forum, I did not cross-post here in this topic thread. I am thinking about getting another one of these extremely important lights for my other hand, so I can see for myself what the insanely superlative beam looks like with one of these in each hand. Is the GT94 still currently in production? If yes, are they currently being produced with smooth reflectors?

Yes, they are making them still. No word yet on the smooth reflectors. I have not gotten a reply of any kind in a few weeks.

Don’t feel bad, but suite and suit are different words to. The term Strong suit comes from cards. It helps to consider etymology or the word or phrases root origins. You could also add Grammarly for browser spell check support.

The funny thing is I know those are different words but didn’t know where it came from or which one applied to which context lol.

My Mom teases me that I used to both have really good handwriting and above average spelling (never was good though lol) but I forgot how after all these years working with computers. To be fair she is not wrong.

We all have strengths and weaknesses. Grammarly is a godsend. I always had excellent comprehension, spelling, and a way with words.

What I lacked was the ability to use proper punctuation and structure. I still need work, but have improved a fair bit.

It can help anyone and before you know it, those red marks start guiding you to improvements.

Yep, we sure do. I am way past feeling bad about it lol.

I always excelled at the more technical things and tended to just let spelling and grammar be “good enough” since they didn’t really peak my interest past being able to communicate with others.

I will give Grammarly a try, the privacy implications are a little worrisome from some quick research but can try it out for a bit as it looks like it would indeed help. I have wished something like that would be built into firefox for a long time.

The code in your first post still works, so soon I will find out if the one that I just ordered for my left hand will ship with a smooth reflector. If not, no problem, because this light still is the X65 killer that I have been waiting for for almost four years, even with the orange peel reflector.

This is the only light that has both significantly more throw and also significantly more lumens than the X65. Unique. Sole. The only one.

Very many lights have a lot more throw, but much less lumens, or a lot more lumens, but not also with more throw than the X65. Lots. Many. One of them is important. R90TS. Between it and BLF GT94, the same choice. More lumens, or more throw. One of them is the more of one and less of the other version of the other. Soldered cell contact points, or user control of the cells. Active or passive cooling. You take your pick. I pick both as king of power throwers.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago. Would I be correct to assume, based on what you say here, that there’s no ETA at the moment?

I’d just like to have an idea of when the light will ship.

Yeah, I would not expect it to ship soon. My guess is they are waiting until they have the SMO reflectors to build anymore, makes more sense then building them with OP and then having to send the SMO separate later.

I have not gotten an official update on the subject though.

The GT94 is continuing to quicken my pulse as top of the heap for both the big flashlight classification and also the power thrower classification.
Compared to the X65: The GT94 has both noticeably more power and also noticeably more throw. The beam profile and performance can be simply visualized as the X65 beam that is boosted via both more throw and more power, with both of these two flashlights having similar beam profile that is the perfect balance of not to narrow and not too wide.

Compared to R90TS: The GT94 beam profile is narrower than the R90TS, but more throw with much less self-glare on distant target. Take the R90TS beam, and make it longer and narrower, and you then have the GT94 beam. The R90TS has more power that is useful for wider beam at less range, but the GT94 puts more light on a mid-size target at longer range, with crisper view via less self-glare.

For the most LED light on the furthest target with crisper view via the least amount of self glare, the largest dedicated thrower, which is the MT90/MF05, is tops. At the other end of the spectrum, the most amount of light on the widest area calls for the MS18.

Also, the K75 is significantly superseded by the MT90/MF05.

I temporarily skipped the GT4 because it has both less power and also less throw than the R90TS. But since it has long runtime at the specs that it does have, it is a great choice for such a thing. I will have to soon experience this strong forte for myself.

This is my summery of compare/contrast the big lights beam performance/profile: MT90/MF05, K75, GT94, X65, R90TS, MS18 and GT4.

Every time I earmark the money to buy light measuring tools and photographic equipment to take usable measurements and beamshots, so I can post reviews, it goes to another light.

We have all been there! :+1:

The one that I ordered for my other hand on October 31 just shipped, I just got emails with the DHL tracking number from Neals and PayPal. Either they are manufacturing each light to order, or the initial production run supply hasn’t dried up yet. Soon I will find out if this specimen will come with a smooth reflector.

Pretty sure they are making them as they get the parts and seems they are just able to keep up with demand based on your experience.

This just in: The second sample of BLF GT94 that I ordered on October 31 just came in, it has a Smooth reflector. :)

I have to wait six more hours for the dawn of the new flashlight day, to see if there is any visible difference of the amount of light on a medium size target 750 meters away. My guess now is that there will be no subjective difference in beam profile/beam performance to my eyes, one reason being that the first one with OP is more like a light op reflector.
