The only way I can remove the optics on these is by sliding a feeler gauge underneath and moving it around like a can opener. Maybe I can file out the holes in the pcb for the feet?
I’m primarily using these lights for ambience so a mule seems like the best choice. Hank sells a mule with 16 e21a emitters in a circle. What do you think of this 16 mule configuration vs. a quad with a floody optic or a quad mule? One difference I see is that each emitter is going to be powered 25% for the same lumens as a quad, so the duv will be higher.
I wish it was easier for me to remove the optics and try it. I’ve already bought seven of these kr4 and d4v2’s so I’m scrutinizing this purchase closely.
