I just discovered something odd today. I logged into BLF this morning and logged out later on. After an hour or so I opened the BLF website again but not being logged in. To my surprise BLF still showed my status "online". My first thought was that my password has been compromised and my account hacked, so I changed my password immediately. But even after changing my password, BLF still shows my status "online" even though I have logged out.
Update: It seems the issue is gone, now. Maybe just a hickup in the server system?
Still, BLF shows my status as "online" even though I was offline for several hours today. It seems the status does not really reflect if I am really online or not. Anyway, I have changed my password again even though I do not suspect it was compromised.
Thank God I am a total IT-muggle, but isn’t there an ANSI commandline hidden in your location?
Like building a bomb with the household detergents you have stashed under your kitchen sink.
Clear the browser history at least daily and immediately after any credit card transaction. The browser is taking a shortcut back to where you were. It doesn’t recognize that you logged out. You will see that the last seen time doesn’t make sense. While you are at it reset the advertising ID daily in google.
Maybe a cookie keeps identifying you, even if you’re not authorized by password (hence ‘log or register to post’).
Edit: Just tested. After I log out, the status shows immediately ‘offline’, even when reloading the page. So - you’re a special BLF case (but currently offline ).
Actually, my Firefox browser is set up with maximum security settings, i.e. privacy mode, no cookies, no browser history, cache wiped after closing the browser...
But maybe something else is still tracking my ID, using the world’s greatest spyware (Windows 10)...who knows. Anyway, I try not to get too OCD. :-D
