You could have looked in my list.. and had seen that they have both the AA and AAA`s ;)
Edit: June 7th 2012: For the Black-Red eneloops, they have both AA`s and AAA`s, but not for the white Disney-Love ones, they only have AA`s
I also edited my third post in this thread with the correct model numbers!
You can get 4 3rd gen ones from Japan via eBay for around $20.
As for US sellers, probably not of the 3rd gen ones unless its at a over inflated price.
I just did a break in on some Turnigy LSD batteries from Hobby King, they are all around 2250-2350 but there is no indication how many cycles they will last.
I found j-stop on ebay, $22 for 4AA shipped. Not bad considering Amazon charges $20 for 2nd gen. I'd rather deal with US seller if possible. I'm not interested in experimenting with a new brand of LSD cells. I've used Sanyo for >5 years, all my 1st Gens are still working pretty good, despite 100s of cycles. Many of them are probably at or beyond the 1000 cycle count.
I have bought from Thomas before, decent seller, all their Eneloops are apparently 2nd Gen, but price is good at $15 shipped for 4AAs.
Thanks, the problem is, first, I already have that usb charger... second, I dont need too many batteries (12). 4 batteries are enough for me, because I have a lot nimh batts...
That´s why I was asking for the DinoDirect´s ones........
I asked DD about them and they said these are 2nd get UTGA batteries, I ordered 3 packs of them and will pick up them sometime this week so Ill try to report back within week or two as to how well they perform.
I have 4 older 2nd gen Eneloops that Ive used for more than a year, so Im not sure how accurate would it be to compare their capacity to the new ones.
I might charge couple of new ones for LSD tests and leave them in storage for some time tho.
I also ordered 1 pack to DD, but if you tell me that they are original (please check how to identify fake from genuine if you dont know) I will purchase another pack.
-they are GEN1(UTG), and not GEN2(UTGA)
-wrapping is poor, Ill post pictures tomorrow, basically scratched/dented and not evenly distributed
-not sure if these are geniune first generation Eneloops or just some ripoffs.
One of the 4 batteries that I tested discharged only 190mAh@1000mA discharge rate.
The rest I stopped at ~380mAh because I had to go out and didnt want to leave charger unattended.
Any suggestions whether 500mA discharge rate will be accurate enough for tests? I dont want to spend days of testing running dicharge @100mA or 200mA.
There are 4 2 more discharging currently and one last battery awaiting for discharge.
Heres the packaging:
Wrappers are of poor quality:
Theres plenty of empty space between top of the battery and wrapping material:
Heres the bottom of batteries after removing them from charger once/twice:
Regarding their weight - they weigh as much as Turnigy AA LSD’s and gram or two more than my older 2nd generation UTGA AA Eneloops.
Do these seem legit? I dont own any 1st generation AA UTG series Eneloops, only AAA ones, but the build quality appears to be poor and not like original Eneloops. Not sure how well will they perform because it will take months to test their LSD data and thus I cant be sure regarding their performance.
Look fake to me.
There are no date numbers on these fake cells but there are no on my 2nd gen Eneloops and 1st gen AAA neither, I found that my original ones have etched date codes, barely visible now.
Last two cell discharge numbers:
714mAh
1587mAh
I also charged two cells @2000mA charge rate, guess what I get:
2611mAh
2780mAh
Definitely fake by looks and by performance, will contact DD today and ask for full refund and report them to Sanyo, if that will make any sense
