[FIXED] I give up on these forums - any other iPad users out there?

I really like the Dolphin browser on my Android 4.0 tablet... much better than Firefox for android (which I use for WIN7) and the integrated Google one. I believe it's free and available for Ipad users also? Have you tried switching the browser from tablet mode to normal desktop mode? (many browsers allow that..in Dolphin it is called )

As far as Apple goes .... they make great products that work out of the box... but I don't like their restrictive policies very much. BLF is not the time or the place for flame wars... they are prone to get out of hand... you now how people are that defend their "religion". ;-)

"I'm not part of your system, MAN!"

"Wake up, SHEEPLE!"

That's you. That's what you sound like.

Vectrex: "... you now how people are that defend their "religion". "

Didn't The Devil use an apple to get Adam and Eve kicked out of heaven?

Yep and it worked!.... right out of the box.... apples do come in boxes, right?

Yes. It was a MAC-intosh .

Keith

He already made that joke.

Sorry to the OP for having to listen to Bose301’s rude and worthless comments. We are not all like that so please don’t judge us by one bad “apple”

I am using iPad and there is not a problem on this forum

Have you ever tried using an Apple product? Like you, I was very anti-Apple until about a year ago when I was given an iPhone to use for work. The amazing thing was that I came to realize that I was using my iPhone to surf the web more than my laptop because of the boot up times despite the tiny screen. When it came time to replace my trusty old laptop I started looking at tablets, like the Androids and the iPads and the iPad just seemed like a smoother handling device.

I dunno what laptop you have but my Samsung ultrabook starts up in 5 seconds (even less - 1 to 2 seconds - if I wouldn’t have to type password every time)

My wife and I love our iPad, but it's for surfing or simple posting. Anything complicated and I'll use the iMac at home or the PC at work. I use my iPhone all the time for reading, but it is cumbersome to post with because of the small size and lack of a mouse (and my fat fingers). It's nice having a choice and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

I run bootcamp on the iMac with XP / Office 2003 on the other side. Best of both worlds. There are many software packages that either haven't been written for Apple (Mapping software) or where the Apple version is inadequate (Excel). I do some pretty sophisticated Maps for cycling using Microsoft Streets & Trips and Delorme; I haven't looked in a while, but when I did could not find anything remotely like them that would run in IOS.

My laptop also recovers from standby about the same time as my WP7 phone (neither Android nor iOS, lookatdat!) and its like 5 years old.

I dislike Apple, too. Company policy and most of the users are indeed sheep. "Why did you buy it?" - "Because its Apple!!!!!!111111111111". Not even starting to talk about how overpriced the products are and how incredible ridiculous the copyright claims are..

Posting works fine on WP7 btw. But I dont like posting from any smartphone/tab.. smartphones are just too small and tablets are too slow for proper typing (yes, also the "all hail to the 3rd. gen ipad")

Wait, you don't love crapintoshes? :P

I wouldn't mind it so much if it hadn't basically turned into a religion. Heck, I still boycott Sony for that stunt they pulled where they were installing malware (or whatever it's called) from their rewritable disc's.

Here's what I wonder: That 'big red button' they have back at headquarters that can shut down all the iphones - What if it really does something more sinister? J)

Apple Zombie Sheep, yea I know what you mean.

How do we go from Flashlights to maxipads and Ipads ?

Ipad.....sounds like a monthly app for the ladies............

And you think that things in Redmond and Mountain View are any less sinister?

Privacy is gone as we know it. IMHO, there's MUCH more to be afraid of with the DHS, the internet kill switch, the NDAA, cellphone control, etc., coming out of D.C. then there ever will be from Cupertino (not to say that they don't engage in their share of 'overlording' as well!).

What if it made the lion battery charge backwards and explode! :O

Okay, I am posting with my iPad 3rd gen right now. We will see how it works.

Does a smiley appear here?

Alright my smiley did not originally appear in the proper location but a simple cut and paste got it there. Nothing too complicated. It seems to have something to do with how Safari and the image insertion pop-up play with each other, which is apparently not to nicely! When the pop-up window comes up, you can still see the cursor in the main window flashing beneath the pop-up. When I place the cursor in the text line of the pop-up window, then it apparently moves the cursor of the main window as well. A rather odd behavior to be sure!

Let me try another linked pic:

I don't know. I'm just not having that much trouble. For using a browser on a mobile device it seems okay to me, though it may require the movement of an image on occasion via copy/paste.

Hus on first base. :)

I'm posting pictures from my photobucket account. When I try to add a photo iy shows up randomly, usually in the middle of a sentence. When I add a second photo it shows up anywhere it wants to and the third one goes wherever it wants to.
