Mini review of DX's AAA7 XP-E R2.

The emitter is in fact a XP-C which is clearly seen on DX pictures and is of unknow bin. The body has a nice finish and look like a mini AA-S1 (same color and good feel). The markings are "DX" at the front and "XPE-R2" at the middle.

The output with NiMH is low, 20 LM at 0.63A. I think it needs a 10440 to really perform, but I have none of those.

The hotspot is normal size, but uneven and there are many rings. I suspect the LED sits a little low in the smooth reflector.

The color temperature measured rather warm, 5700K, bin WD, off-neutral value 4 (almost neutral to the green side).

It does not tailstand.

Pity its not xpe-r2. I'd be keener if it was. Any chance that its an old pic on dx

Sorry edc, but the one I received on dec.4-2010 really is an XP-C as in the picture.

It was kind of wishfull thinking. I wish they would get their specs right. I suppose they hope people won't notice.

No ... you're not going to miraculously win by default and get what they say ... you will recieve a sharp shin kick without any appology "" r2 my a** "" dino direct played the same game with me and their p.o.s. trustfire A-2 xpg r-5 that turned out to be an xpc .. sneaky bastards took so long to ship i didn't have time to open a paypal dispute or do a thing except .. eat it .. did I say how much I hate low life sob's ?
