Palight RCR123A's are here

Ok , havent seen these before , so since Best Offer Buy had the best price in town , I ordered one of each , Protected and not protected .

Cooking lunch ATM , [ nearly ready ] so will update as time permits ..

Palight [ picture shortly ]

Blue one is unprotected and the Orange one is protected ..

Blue was $1.50 [ Length = 34.9mm Dia = 16.5mm ] Voltage on arrival was 3.8v

Orange was $2.60 [ Length = 36.2mm Dia = 16.5mm ] Voltage on arrival was 3.87v

Both cells are on the charger ATM , but I will take a picture after lunch .

Update : Discharge Test .

Put them in my [ now ] SSC P7 L2m , to test for Discharge capability .

Blue = 1.69A

Orange = 1.67A

AW = 1.81A

Solarforce V2 = 2A

Well , thats not bad , considering the price point .. There only a little down on the AW RCR123A

Next I will do the run time test [ This will take longer ]

Wow , these cells are total CRAP .... I dont know what else to call them .. Ok maybe Rubbish , trash , a waste of money , a rip off , a con , a lot of Sht , [ can I say that ]

Seriously , Crap in a wrapper !

The PTC tripped @ 24min 30seconds on the orange one ...

The blue one @ 25 minutes had seriously sagged [ output ] and measured voltage was 1.79v at the end of the run , thats from 3.53v @ 20minutes , so the last 5 minute run really strained the heck out of the blue one [ unprotected ] ...

Well , I highly recommend you dont buy these , dont even look at them , in fact , even at these prices , these cells are total rubbish ...

Ok , using my Imax B6 balance charger to discharge the cells @ 0.5A to 3v = Orange / 334mA capacity , Blue / 304mA capacity .

That's too bad but definitely good to know. Thanks for taking one of many for the team.

Thanks Old. Sorry the cells turned out to be total garbage.

Thanks for the heads up!

To be honest , I was expecting them to be bad , but not this bad ... Took me by surprise ...

Well, I think they simply have to change "880 mAh" to "400 mAh". Some batts are total crap from the beginning (those fake TF 18650 for example)

P.S.: excellent review as always, Rich

There, Fix't!

Perhaps 250mAh seems more realistic.

D'oh! Fixed. Thanks

55 min. with Solarforce (880 mAh I suppose), 20-25 with Palight... If they costs 3 times less... it's not so bad I think

They are bad when for an extra 30c you get decent batteries ...

good work old

would you recomend the solerforce for use in a zebralight H31

i am looking for new cells for this light as the crappy uniross 3v ones i have only give me 10-15 mins on high before cutting to the lower modes

where is the best site to buy them

cheers Barrie

Check the Solarforce Review I posted .. Length may be an issue in some lights . and the new Solarforce Cells are longer than the Trustfires ..

There a darn nice cell , Im using one with my XM-L A20 , so will see how long it lasts @ around the 2A mark ..
