Solarforce Skyline I - That doesn't look quite right.

I ordered a Skyline from http://www.solarforce-sales.com as it really does look to be a great addition for the price and I don't have a dedicated thrower at the moment.

Sadly it's had a rather hard trip and with it's only protection being a light wrapping of that very thin white foamy padding and a brown paper envelope it's not survived.

It's never a good sign when a parcel unexpectedly rattles, in this case I think you can see the biggest problem in the photo below...yup that's not exactly the best place for the part of the LED to be.

The tail cap also took it's share of the damage, it's been banged hard enough to dent a flat spot on the edge, the switch seems to be totally dead as well.

So that's rather annoying, I've had several items from them (well via ebay) and everything has been great. I've fired them off an email, hopefully they'll get back to me soon.

your photos are not showing.

This link should take you to the image.

XR-E LEDs don't work at all well once the dome falls off - that light must have taken quite a battering in the post. The Skyline is a pretty tough light so I hate to think what happened to it.

Hopefully Solarforce sales will sort this out.

Nice image. The fingerprint coated lens are nice. I hope solarforce do the right thing.

Yeah I got an email back from them saying they will just pop another one in the post for me, so that's very nice of them.

Hehe...yeah that giant finger print is all my work. other than the damage the Skyline was all shiny and lovely looking.

Good on Solarforce. Not the all too common denial, obfuscation and time wasting.

Now you just want to drop an XM-L in there to see what happens - or ship the corpse to me for modding. PM me if you want to sell it.

It's funny you should suggest that Don, I've got a couple of XM-L's comming in the post. I hadn't quite decided what one of them was going in, but now there seems to be a rather obvious choice.

It is nice to see good customer service, I will buy more of their stuff because of it so in the long run they'll make much more than their money back :)

Solarforce once sent me a bunch of o-rings for free. It's little things like that can buy you a ton of free advertising and good will. And say what you will about Surefire, but their customer service is top notch, in my experience.
