P7 or MC-E

I need cheap bike flood light.

So 502b with MC-E, or 502b with P7 ?

It will be driven with 1.5A KD driver.

p7 over mc-e, and xm-l over both.

XM-L of course, where have you been for last 2 years?

+1

I have already some XM-L lights. But I need something with more flood.

I don’t think you will get anything better with a P7 over an XML. I just updated my old Gemini P7 Titan bikelight to XML and it performs much better in every single way. Stick with XML. Get a HD2011 Fandy or Ultrafire if you want a cheap light that will give you plenty of flood. The smaller the size of the reflector the more flood.

Edit: Here’s the marsfire version:

This thing is bright and produces a wall of light at close range, fantastic little flooder.

That looks like a fantastic flooder! I have to get one of those.

What he said.

I have a Fandyfire HD2011.

It's a great compact flashlight. I like it more than my stock UniqueFire UF-2100, except for the fact that the HD2011 has no memory, always starts on high, and overheats extremely quickly on high.

If using the HD2011 for cycing personally I don’t think heats an issue. It does get hot for the first 20 mins, but lately I’ve just let it go full tilt for over an hour and haven’t had any problems. The air flow helps keep it reasonable.

Nedko,

Have you tried the 502 as a bike light? I tried a SolarForce L2 w/ the Manafont HO drop-in on brother-in-laws bike and the vibrations caused the light to switch modes. Just wanted to mention it before you put $$ down.

I have 504b XM-L OP reflector as a bike light. No problem with battery contact.

I have both p7 and mce lights and both have the “cross”. You can sputter the reflector to eliminate this or get an op reflector but an XML will have better run time. Nothing wrong with saving your money for beer.
