Battery pack help!

Go easy as this is my first post!

Last year I bought an XML T6 bike light off DX (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/t6-assault-crown-waterproof-xml-t6-3-mode-1…) used it training through the winter nights here in Scotland last year. Then procured another exact same light off a mate today. I was thinking of using the two lights but running them off 1 single Battery pack? They currently run 3-4 hours on high off 4×18650 pack could I run say a 4×26650 pack for similar runtime? Or any suggestions? Needs to fit inside a water bottle & not be too heavy. I have no experience on rigging this up either so if anybody is kind enough to re-direct to any info on that would be awesome!! thanks in Advance!!

Ok, so it says the input voltage is 8.4 so that means your battery pack is 2s2p 18650s. What batteries are you currently using in it?

6x or 8x NCR18650B would be your best bet, I currently use self-made 6x NCR18650A pack for 2x MagicShine MJ-808 clones (one with diffuser lens and neutral white LED, one with normal lens and cool white LED), but the B’s have more capacity.

They have to be wired 2S3P (or 2S4P, or 2SanythingP), to match voltage of original pack. Oh, and you’ll have to get a hobby-charger, because stock chargers of these things are horrid, and even more horrid for self-made packs. Also, in case your lights don’t have low voltage warning, you’d have to add protection PCB to the pack (you can find them fairly easily for 2S packs).

Yeah they are just the original unbranded 18650 pack. So you reckon 6 x 18650 would do the trick shadow, what kind of runtime do you get on high for the Magicshines? Yeah I have ordered a diffuser lens for this also.
How do you connect the Light to the pack the stock connections seem quite flimsy?
Cheers

I’m getting ~2.5 hours with both lights on max output, but that’s with cells only charged 4.1V/cell (to prolong their lifetime).

It's good to have you here, Karboncraig!
