Is free shipping from Intl-outdoors slow??

I think it states that it’s a 15-18 day wait. If you still don’t get it after 60 days they refund you or send out another.

I’m in Australia too, and it’s the 4th day since I ordered my 7g5v2 + collimator head.
Fingers crossed I get it within 18 days.

No way. It all depends on China Post Air Mail.

Registered mail just adds registration services. Limited “tracking”.

You can buy from CNQG/Manafont, intl-world, aliexpress, ebay (china sellers). All are subjected to the same system.
CNQG/Manafont use HKAM, wee bit faster. However i have waited 1 order for 45 days on HKAM.

It depends… DX can use HK or China Post, depends on who is selling, it is just like a mini aliexpress/ebay with sellers/dropshippers in China or HK. (you can actually see the supplier’s name at the bottom of the item being listed and sold)

As slow as wet week when you have your mother in law staying over!!

My last order from IOS took 21 days, and I noticed it was sent Singapore Post. Previous order took 8 days! That one was registered, and I don’t recall it being from Singapore.

Admittedly the latest (3 week) delivery was only a few bits and pieces, including two replacement reflectors, but I don’t think it unreasonable for Hank to use cheaper shipping for low value orders.

It’s also possible its in oz, just held up at customs, some of my orders are taking a long time and I suspect that is the issue tbh.

I’m in Australia as well, and have ordered many things from IOS.

On average for Registered post, it take 8-10 days to reach me in SA.

For Unregistered post it actually takes longer, about 12 - 14 days.

BUT the longest it has taken, just very recently and for only a small order, has been 4 weeks on the dot. In all my career of purchasing flashlight crap from around the world, no order has taken as long as 4 weeks to reach me … then again nobody else I ordered from uses 4PX for shipping - except of course CN Quality Goods.

Good luck … be patient, and just let Hank know if you didn’t receive it, and he’ll sort it out for you.

Cheers

In australia there is no customs tax, and it’s pretty much impossible to mistake a torch for a weapon. when ordering them australian customs will 95% of the time let it through as soon as it comes in.

I have no way to confirm this though, however i know that australia is a country where imports are never delayed - only confiscated :frowning:

Oz customs once delayed one of my Manafont orders for a week while they figured out whether the bonus crystal mud was contraband !

And the customs duty value limit is $1000, so be careful to keep your orders below that !

Oh, thanks for correcting me suncoaster!
I stand corrected

No worries. Customs put a note in the parcel explaining that it had been opened and inspected.
One way to slow shipments - put some strange granules in packets in with the legit stuff.
I sometimes wonder if they will mistake my latest torch for a deadly laser and confiscate it.

It is not from Singapore. Singpost has subsidiaries like 4PX (shenzhen), so they are stamped with the SG registered article number. I know CNQG Ric uses 4px sometimes, and so does O-like (a budget laser retailer)

Do they open at least 50% of all the orders inbound to Aus? (good govt you have there!)

Geez….no wonder laser and knife sellers don’t send these stuff to Australia (i noticed this on Ebay and Aliexpress).

ELse how do they detect stuff like those small crystal mud granules then? It’s not as if you are bringing in a 10kg pack. X-ray scanning packets in bulk is not uncommon, even then due to the large volume at least over here they selectively scan and it’s more for EMS / USPS Priority.

All small packets are inspected; xray and other non intrusive inspection technologies, and sniffer dogs.
Knives don’t stand a chance.
If the contents are sus and can’t be identified they open the packet. Very few packets get opened.

Any time I order a knife its gets opened. Even a few of my flashlight packages have been. Thats why I stopped buying knives  . I’ve found 2-3 weeks is the norm for free post chinese sellers. Quickest ever was 5 days (Trustfire) longest ever DX : 5 months at least.

Wow. That explains it.

Well, we do ban bubblegum here, if it makes you feel better….

I found that IOS will mark your item as "shipped" quickly, but it doesn't seem like it really is shipped for a few more days. Almost like "shipped" just means delivered to the postal service (or picked up, whatever) and then the postal service sits on it awhile. I forgot tracking on my last few orders, so I can't compare the dates of when it really "shipped".

IOS is a very good vendor though and I wouldn't worry. I still get my orders rather quickly.

limit is $1,000.00 for customs?

I thought it was much much lower than that…

Gah, I might even be overseas when it gets here, in that case. :~

For me, it's been about a two week turn-around to the US for IO. I'll 2nd the hallelujah for Solarforce shipping; when this flashlight Foysanity began oh-so-long-ago (about 18 months/seems like my whole life) Solarforce-sales orders would take a month to arrive. My last L2M was in my hand 7 days after ordering.

Got my F12, so shipping was around 24 days.

It would not work out of the box. First I thought it was my protected 18650 batteries (3000ma/h Ultrafires and the regular DX Trustfire “flames.”) It seemed to turn out to be the anodising on the tailcap and body threads preventing proper contact. Works fine now though there seems to be little rhyme or reason to the UI and modes. Other than that the workmanship seems top notch. Just waiting for dark now.
