1 day only - Inron 803 9Cr13mov Orange @ $9 shipped n registered. (processing time 3 days or ESCROW auto refund no Q asked)

Not the best pics but I hope they help a bit to decide.
The G10 (Leen 1203-1) and the Ti coated steel (Leen 1203-2) version side by side:

Bought! (inron my803 Orange)

Is the G-10 Leen larger or is it just a trick of the camera?

From descriptions both have exact same size but different weight:
Leen 1203-2 with steel handle

It’s because of the perspective. They are the same size.

Xatu finally got it. You paid with PP?

BTW, does this work? 10000 grit. I am not anal or want to get a polished surface….just finish with 10k and that’s it. The Taidea 8000 grit is too expensive! (maybe it’d be faster, but i am not finishing a lot of knives)

Yes, i paid with paypal.

For my straight razors I am using a chinese water stone that I prefer to an oil stone equivalent. Easier to use.

Don’t know if this one is in your price range but it works great. Approximately 12000 grit size.

The seller is based in poland. Many of us on or french straight razors forum have bought this stone from him. Good seller.

Ahh…thanks man Tally-ho, that sounds more like it. 12k is cool.

Hi!
Has the deal on the orange 803 expired. Do I understand correctly that the deal will be repeated a few days?
Regards,
Bob

The Leen looks really good but it’s a little short for my hand. I wonder if it’s really 440C?
Is the best price people have found at Aliexpress for $13.50. It appears that as a new company, the two versions of this knife are all that they have so far.

Nope, when 2100 said:

I think he was talking about this deal in an other aliexpress shop:

And there is only 3 different Inron knives in aliexpress shops.
For Leen there is 2 different knives (quite similar): 1201 and 1203. One model with G10 or steel handle: respectively 1203-1 and 1203-2 .

I strongly believe that the greatest item to sharp a razor is a leather strop with diamond paste. If you want to save money and buy a very fine grit sharpener, you can use rectified glass.

I wasn’t sure about that, when I ordered from those two stores I noticed similarities in family (second) name of the sellers and also in their email address.

But the fact that it is an other aliexpress shop still be true. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes it is nice and very effective, the “power to sharpen” of diamond is above all other “commonly” used products. Diamond is your best friend.

I use leather strop and leather strop with diamond paste for my straight razors.
This is great but preferably to refresh and / or maintain the sharpness of the edge. To rebuilt a bevel edge, I prefer a (water) stone. It is also easier to keep a constant angle.
For a flat bevel, a stone is better (but it depends a bit on your skill to keep a constant angle). Or use a leather strop (+ diamond paste) glued on a piece of flat wood. As the leather (if thick) surface is less rigid than stone, the bevel (= profil) of the edge should be slightly convex. For a flatter bevel, thinner leather is better.

Now we need a “sharpening tools and techniques” thread.

Bro thanks…. i am new in this knife thingy. But i think 12k should be fine for me and i’ll check that out later. That’s 1 micron, versus the 0.25 for the finest diamond paste.
Not after the best mirror-finished edge like what we can see on other forums, that’s really too much work and besides it’d dull down.

Seems like lately there have been more and more budget knife discussions. I think this is good as it probably keeps the forum alive.

I got the 12k stone from Poland. Nice and cheap.
Also got a 1200 grit 2 x 3” wallet sized diamond sharpener and the Taidae precision sharpener with 360 and 800 diamond stones. For my Tekut LK5070 ceramic and of coz the steel blades. DX finally shipped it out after 8 business days! (well it is like 6 dollars cheaper than ebay/ali)

Seems like the same as the Poland one : http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/Final-honing12000-grit-slurry-stone-/221089490250?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3379f5e54a

Looking at the Boker Anti-grav ceramic (very nice knife and good price for such quality/specs) but must see how brittle it is with the LK5070 first (that one is the black blade version, supposed to be a little better with regards to brittleness vs the white blades).

The 1203-2 only 1pcs left, I would prefer to send it to BLF members,
You can Get the last one discontinued model Leen 1203-2 from anghu wholesale shop

Been looking at this knife for only about 8 years .... probably time to buy it .

I picked up an Enlan EM-01 and a few more Enlan M07's

Thanks again Jacky

Congratulations! The Leen 1203-2 is a pretty one!
