What knife do you have on order?

On order;
Bear Grylls small fixed
Inron MY803
Elk Ridge Fixed hunting knife
Browning hunting Knife
Enlan F710
Leen

And really tempted to grab a CRKT Ripple of off AliExpress too, damn that place is addictive :frowning:

Shipped via HK post on 19 Aug 2012 and the package is already there waiting for me at the post office. Only 8-9 days. If only China post was as fast.

SRM LB763

SRM GB763

Navy K628

Just ordered an Enlan M011.

All with brand-name equivalents are fakes. It’s just for collection/display and opening cardboard packages.

We have “fakes” in the flashlight arena as well, just not as common. The flashlight aluminium body for the cheaper lights might not even be 6061. Some are ok with fakes, some take issue even with a $32 fake TK35. Of course you do not pay a lot for a fake, but some are very good for the price.

I can’t seem to find that fake sebenza torture test vid again (that video shot by a chinese in China, not that Polish one), they were spine whacking it and doing crazy stuff and it was actually very good. If the demand drops, i am sure aliexpress sellers would drop the price, it dropped to 29.50 before.

Not an expert here, but if you are looking at good knife then i’d not be choosing a $26 Enlan EL08 9Cr13Mov, but say a Buck Vantage Pro with S30V and good lock, it’s 60 bucks on Ebay and in the US i guess you could get from some online stores at 50 bucks. Or a Kershaw Leek with D2 cutting edge at 70 bucks on ebay. At least on bladeforums, it seems that the heat treat on the Buck S30V is even better than Spyderco’s S30V when measured and tested in cutting tests.

An Extrema Ratio Nemesis with 6mm thick blade is only 19 bucks cheapest, and the version with 4mm blade i got it only for 13 bucks. Why not? I’d never be able to afford the 400-500 bucks for one witha N690 blade since i don’t even have semi-professional use for one.

Ordered two more Enlan EL01s and a SanRenMu 710 .

Buck Vantage Pro 192 mm 119g

Enlan EL08 220 mm 190 g

Hardly the same class ... 28 mm and 71 g difference... that's 2 size classes apart in my books. Sorry to sound like a broken record, choose your class first and then look for alternatives.

Bro, don’t worry too much about it, it’s just an example……you could just move it up. You can have a big/heavy knife and still be let down in the field if you are pushing it (not me of course, but since folks here mentioned hunting so i guess they could be cutting through bones etc…heck just go for a fixed blade? ).
Get the Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2.2 then (220mm and 160 grams) since what i mentioned the Kershaw Leek is small. Ok so it’s more expensive at 80 bucks. Of coz there are further considerations like field use for D2 or S30V (which is stainless)…etc etc.

I think the EL08 has slid in price, at least it can be gotten for 25 bucks or so now.

No worries here, just wanted to point out how different these knives are and that they probably serve different roles.

Anyone feeling the urge to buy a Cold Steel Hold Out 1? A 13 inch folder ... aka the folding sword... I know it's totally silly, but I kind of like it somehow... now to look for a civilian purpose to justify it. ;-)

I know what you mean, about silly and about liking it.

It’s far too large to be of much practical use, yet I find myself reaching for my credit card. Only time will tell if I can resist. If I do get it it will be very easy to keep sharp - it will never cut much of anything except the odd apple and lots of air as I wave it around showing it off

Hey i found it, it’s actually a strider……what’s that brown wooden handle knife at the end of the vid?

Hold Out is nice, i mean it’s a nice design. Rajah/Voyager/Spartan seems like butcher knifes that you’d use to take out pig’s internals…… no thanks to the handle material (of coz it’s just me/us). Crazy powerful though. 600lbs on the Espada’s locking mechanism?! The CEO is a slick salesman!

hehehehe…. It can cut a durian!

Enjoy those Knives Tally-ho! I ordered the 763 in aluminum and G10 too, and I have been been thoroughly impressed with both. The axis lock on the aluminum one is smoother (on mine anyway), but you can adjust the tension of either if you take them apart. The 763 replaced the 710 as my EDC, much lighter, rides lower in the pocket, and the axis lock is funner(!) to play with than the liner lock

I guess I shall call myself lucky, my 939 came in almost immaculate shape (pivot lube and tension aside). No scratches aside from a miniscule spot on the back lower handle which appears to be a tooling mark where the paint did not fully get to. Paint is holding up well so far after rattling around with other knives. My only critique of it is the pocket clip, it’s pretty flash, and the tip sticks out a fair bit and is uncomfortably sharp. You can easily key (err…clip?) a car if you walk too close :stuck_out_tongue:

Yikes, that’s quite the scratch. If it makes you feel better, my EL-01KH came with an off-center blade. Glad these knives cost as much as they do.

Yeah, the clip isn’t so bad. The utility of having it outweighs the negative, plus I like how the clip is positioned to partially shield the frame lock gap, feels better than having a sudden drop when the frame lock is engaged IMO.

In regards to the original topic, I have a Ganzo G704 coming. Can’t wait to finally own a large axis lock knife, the 763 has really changed how I feel about axis locks. Now if only Canada Post would show me tracking details before the item actually gets here…

At this time i have on order only the controversial inron my803.

Got my Leen today, first impressions are good but not as good as the delivery time, from David @ hellogiftshop, I ordered this on the 26th!
http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/200700341.html

So fast! I don’t even have info that the RA reached my country (let alone delivery). So it’s not really about distance sometimes.

Not my Inron MY803, not my Leen.

I purchased a Ganzo G707 today.

The black Inron 803 received well, I’m still waiting for the orange 803, the Enlan 710 (with music notes) and the SRM738 (looks like a nice gentleman knife)

I just noticed Sanrenmu 704 back in stock at Exduct so I “had” to order one. Looks like a nice knife to add to my small collection.

Be careful I read several locking/blade centering issues about the Buck Vantage models in the past. I don’t know wether they managed to eliminate those problems in the current production line.
