Unlike on CPF where you tend to hang out we do not judge people based on how long they have been here. People are judged based on their actions. There are some people here who have over 2000 posts and have been here for over a year that are not good leaders. Then there are others like Darkside who are well respected despite not having been here for very long.
I came into this tread hoping for photos of someone’s new black king with a custom logo, or at least something related.

Hi, first of all I don’t even have an account on CPF so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Second, I don’t care about any sort of inter-flashlight forum bickering you seem to be hinting at. “Well thats the way we do things HERE and over there, theyre a bunch of jerks.” Just don’t care. There was a post about black skyrays on CPF, someone asked to see it, and I posted it.
Account age was only brought up solely because he made comments specifically implying that the number of posts would determine the validity of claims people were making.

I wanted a black skyray king. I googled black skyray king. This thread came up. I ordered the light. It came yesterday. The head rattles in a way I’m not comfortable with and the switch doesnt work. I sign up for an account and ask if anyone else’s head rattles, and to see if anyone else got their light. I point to a link on CPF which I found by again googling black skyray king, because the only other person to have received his light thus far says he is having problems with both units. People don’t like the CPF posting because it bashes the seller and the posting is subsequently deleted. People begin lumping me in with the CPF forum posting for some reason and people start calling people bitches. People go off on some conspiracy theorist tangent and start snickering about how I’m some plant from CPF or thats where I hang out and this is another account of some former poster from this site.
Anything else is all your own overactive imaginations. I know this whole creating an account and asking a question when you have a problem thing is blowing your minds. I’ll remember to create an account months ahead of time and grow it slowly and carefully in the future so you don’t have to experience the shock of a stranger asking why his light appears to be broken.

If we could stop filling the thread with your giggling school girl behind the back gossip about how I’m some fake plant from another website because I dare say I have an issue with my light or whatever your weird contention is, and just wait until people start getting their lights and seeing if they have any issues, we’d probably all be better for it. I won’t post anything else unless I hear something from Ric or someone else gets their light.
And the weirdos who have convinced themselves I am whoever they are talking about will use whatever I’m saying now as proof that I am in fact who they think I am. What can you do.

Anyway, I received the light and it functions well. My only complaint is there is no custom logo - no logo at all, in fact. I did try to email Ric before the light was shipped out to verify he received my original Paypal notes when I placed my order regarding my logo request but all of my emails were returned as “undeliverable.” I posted a message here asking Ric to address my concern but I was ignored.
The custom logo is no deal breaker, but it would be nice to get what one paid for. Otherwise, the light is identical in performance to my original golden King. Still a great light and a great value IMO.

I’m in the process of sending my light back to Ric and he stated that he verified that several of the black kings he tried did not have the head rattle or the switch problem, so I will see how a replacement will work out. Glad to see your light is working fine. I would love it if my original concerns over this batch did not pan out, and everyone else’s lights did not have any problems.
I hope Ric has had the nouce to check mine for faults.I ordered it last Thursday.

Great idea but 5 modes with an electronic switch? You must be out of your mind. You would have to cycle through 5 modes everytime you turn on the light because you can’t full press the button once to turn it off like a tailcap clicky. If this light ever comes with 5 modes it must come with an additional switch for ON/OFF. I doubt they would do such a modification but it would kick some serious ass if some other company decides to take up the project.
Single click for on, single click for off, hold down to cycle through modes, double-click for strobe. Something like that would work. Very Zebralight… ish
