Review: H8480 Cree Q5 Zoom Water proof, 3 mode

This light seems interesting. Priced very close to Sipak zoom light that is popular here but better made and more compact.
Links to buy here : tomtop and aliexpress

I can not find any reviews anywhere. And it is not listed with most of china light shops such as dx or manafont….etc.

Any opinion?

I got burnt on another light I tried review , So I’m a bit gun shy to try this one.

Regards

EDIT : See last post for the review!!
blahblahblah from another site :

Okay, ordered from tomtop off of fleabay. 6.64……… :Sp

I have one, and I’m not a fan.

The zoom mechanism is loose, the output dismal compared to a Sipik, and the anodizing feels thin.

Owww! MANNN!

I suck at this.

Would you know if the LED is Q5? Driven how hard may be ?

Thanks for any info. I will write something up when I get it. The problem with sipik is that you never know which version you are getting. I’ve been trying to get 3 mode but you know how that goes…. 1 mode is easy.

Regards

Alright, here we go. Light is very heavy due to thick wall construction. Too big and heavy for key chain carry. It should be good for glove box and or night stand. Fills you hands pretty good.
Brightness is a bit lower than sipik sk68 to my eyes. But since I don’t have it with me, comparo shots are done with ZebralightSC51 on high. Hope it is alright. They are both using NIMH cells freshly charged.
Workmanship is pretty good. LED is mounted inside the body of the light and zooming is done with bazel assembly. For about same price as sipik - it is very comparable. 3 mode. hi lo and blink!! no mode memory. Comes on hi all the time.

It came in a bubble wrap that had no bubbles left in it. in a small white box inside a bubble-wrap mailer (white).

Pro: Good construction. Rubber o-rings every where but can’t tell if there is 1 between body and sliding bazel? Don’t see a way to see inside of it! So rain resistant I would say. Not water proof.
Good threads, not lubed tho. Standard reverse clicky -orange. its installed from outside with retaining ring.
Con: Not too bright. I would say about or under 100 Lumens…. Useful light but disappointing compare to sipik.

I will keep it. But not good enough for me to buy more. Would be good as presents.

Enjoy the pictures.

If you need to see more angles of the light , let me know and I will see if I can do it.

Light measured with [my eye V 1.0] - current measurement not available as I own no such equipment!
