Looking for a Driver that will

power a 3 and 4 LED Emitter. Here’s the catch/requirement : Can power 1 emitter , both or all up to 4 LED’s .
Or run each emitter sequentially in a strobe like function or somewhat like PWM but 1 LED powered at a time.

i.e 4 LED’s with the driver siwtching rather on/off , LED1 to LED2, 3 and 4 in in a circular rotation. Can function as continuous light source or strobe. There is a manufacturer currently making lights with this functionality.I have seen the light but i cannot locate it. Or if anyone is familiar with the circuit itself.

Its really a nice feature to have on a high output multi emitter lights.

DrJones is currently working on a driver that can do so. Fenix TK45 and Niteye Eye30 work similar.

Yes. NightCrawl's fault. Firmware is done:

Modes:

  • constant brightness modes with any number of LEDs on.
  • which LEDs are on changes every time (like TK45)
  • low-batt step-down switches LEDs off at 3V, one after another; if only one is left, it's dimmed down
  • soft running light mode, cross-fading from LED to LED
  • fade strobe, LEDs light up one after another in circular sequence, but softly fade out; interesting effect.
  • beacon (LEDS blink up every 10s) including battery monitor: number of LEDs indicate battery status.
  • multi-strobe: every LED uses a different frequency (4..10 Hz), and frequencies are changed every second
  • PWM: 2kHz
  • Memory with 'short cycle': after using a mode >1s it's memorized, but the 'next mode' (after memory) will be mode 1 in the mode order (like luxdrv; that actually was sixty454's idea). That combines the advantages of memory and no-memory UI.

It's for a NANJG 105C or 101 - however, hardware modifications have to be made; some traces have to be cut and some small wires have to be added, and some AMC7135 have to be added. If you want to run 4*XP-G 1.4A that would be 16 AMC7135s... Or you can use slave boards. But imagine a single sided driver with 4 stacks of 4 AMC7135 :)

Niteye, I have seen the functionality work. It was its a show stopper. I have a few Quad emitters and they
without doubt will be much mire effective with a scale able driver. The effect alone is fantastic. In a 4 LED P60 it should really enhance the usability of high output application or light…Its not an EDC but i can power this thing without fear of temporary blindness and powering for too long. if necessarily

Dr Jones - First thank you!! I have the NGJ boards handy, and 7135 IC chips. On a good day i can solder a few piggy back IC’s. Im not sure how this is done , in particular the placement of each chip. Desired thicnkess, and slew of questions have yet to figure out.
Now, in terms of functionality how does one modify the firm ware? Or should i not consider this
doable as i don’t have a programmer and im not much for programming.
Is the driver itself available for purchase? As much ias i would like to make it im aware this maybe beyond my pay-grade.
