Now that you too have a broken one, Iâd say itâs a definite avoid. Too bad. Was a nice-looking charger with okay specs, but after all this bad press, I wonât get within 10 feet of another one.
I hope thatâs the reason why. I just ordered one from lightmalls, and I did not stumble upon this thread until later.
Australia uses 220-230v AC so it should work
I typically use a hobby grade charger. I did get this Ultrafire charger included with an X6 and its pretty a pretty good charger overall. Keep in mind a good percentage of Ultrafire chargers are fakes. I know a seller on another forum
that has tested a bunch of them and found as many as 50% were poor
quality fakes. Check, you should have an Ultra fire hologram sticker on the back, for starters. The fake version doesn't have the rubber finish as the original and you should be able to remove the plug from the charger.
Thanks for the heads up. Mine went out with the trash weeks ago, so I canât check, but it definitely had the rubber finish. I donât know about the hologram though. Donât remember.
So how did everyoneâs TR-006 chargers end up? I had no problems as you described, maybe there was a bad batch or seller who sold a cheaper production line? I purchased one then a second one so I could charge all 3 26650s for my J18 and ak48 together (especially since they are slow), both run reliably, but charge to 4.14-4.13 regularly, nightly for 1-2.5 months (depending on which one you look at)âŚI guess Iâll have slightly better battery life this way.
Well, almost 11 mo now, for my TR-006 chargers, they are still going strong. Bought a TR-008 charger and am using that most frequently now so I can charge 3x26650s, although termination is at about 4.15/4.16V again instead of 4.20 (I think this is actually a bonus for battery life), it doesnât overcharge batteries left in it and it works nice and fast in comparison to the TR-006. My XTAR WP2 charger didnt make it 7mo however, and it would terminate at 4.21VâŚironic the more expensive charger just didnât cut it out of the 4.
All of mine that worked, still work. So thatâs 2 of them, and 8 went in the garbage. Even the ones they sent me to replace the ones that didnât work, didnât work lol?
Another thread, back from the dead! I guess i got lucky with mine, I bought just one TR006 charger and it has always worked great. Now if I just knew where it was. I couldn't find it after Thanksgiving weekend... I think I left it with my in-laws and won't be able to get it back until January...
I gave away my working ones. Once you charge at 2 amps itâs hard to go back to something slower. I use my XTAR SP2 almost exclusivly, 2 amps for my NCR18650Bâs and all my 26650âs and 32650âs! Woot.
Nice, Iâd imagine so once you have 2A! TR-008 is about 1.5A, but still so much nicer than TR-006âs <1A and 3 battery at the same time charging I use it more now. I think this is that same issue I saw before with another personâs TR-006 problems with a seller: some TR-006âs are made for different power systems of different countries and they put together/buy and send the wrong ones sometimesâŚwhen you want a replacement they send you one from the same wrong batch and it still doesnât work⌠Sounds like you got a bad manufacturer/dealer on your TR-006s, though it doesnât matter for you anymore. I donât use them as much as my much faster TR-008 now.
Your link however, it says âXTAR SP2 charger for 14500 17500 17670 18650 18700 lithium batteryâ, but it can charge your 26650âs and 32650s?
As to thread back from the dead: yup, and I hope anyone with life/use updates on items raises threads âfrom the deadâ with more info!
