How to reattach the cap on a reverse clicky

I was just messing around with a clicky switch and ended up taking off the little rubber end cap. And now I can’t get it back in for the life off me! Anyone have any tricks for this?

Is this the switch boot or the actual part of the clicky?

Just the boot. I mean, I can get it back in, but in there’s a small part of the edge which is bunched up and that makes it very easy to accidentaly move it back out.

What light is this? On all of mine you simply drop it in, make sure it is properly seated, (sticks out the back) and then screw in the switch. The only one I know of that is different is the ultrafire 2100.

Glad you replied Scaru, the 7g5v2!

Then, I'm not quite sure. It looks like it shouldn't be to hard. Just shove it in there and screw down the switch with a pair of pliers. Sorry I can't be more helpful. :(

The way I understod that, he didn’t find out the switch can actually be uncscrewed.

Yep, now that I re-read it you are right.

Sintro, take the tailcap off the light and in the switch you should see two little indents. Take some needle nose pliers and stick them in there. Then twist. The switch should come out and you will be able to place the boot back in. If you need pics just tell me.

Sintro, I’m sure you know, but just in case… turn it counterclockwise to unscrew the switch. Righty tighty, lefty loosey as the saying goes.

I just stole this image from Sharpthangs X-Power Galaxy review, but here is what you need to do to your tailcap:

In other words Sinto you don’t just try to press it back on from the outside as I think you are trying to do from your description.

Just follow Cone’s directions. It’s easy.

Ah, so that’s how it’s done, I’ll do that right now! Yeah, I was just trying to push it in…LOL.

Okay, I’m finished thanks for the help everyone, took about 2 minutes your way.

Haha, gotta cover all the bases!

We’ll make a hard core modder out of you yet, Sintro. Maybe Santa will bring you a soldering iron.
