Quality 18500 Sayo Panasonic or similar quality cell where can I buy them?

There are Panasonic NCR18500’s (2000mAh), but I doubt you’ll find them.
Best option you have are Sanyo UR18500F’s (1620mAh) - you can find them on AliExpress. For example:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sanyo-Li-ion-18500-1620mAh-Cell-UR18500F-1-62Ah/386531350.html
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sanyo-Li-ion-18500-1620mAh-Cell-UR18500F-1-62Ah/317006179.html

I wonder what the MOQ is, the “Shipping Cost: US $226.59 to UK Via UPS Expedited” was a little off putting.

I just found 18500 SANYO 3.7V Li-ion Rechargeable Battery Cell

Check for other sellers using search - some sellers put completely unreasonable prices when they don’t want to ship to some countries.

Uhh… note how title says 18500, not 18650. They are 15mm shorter than 18650’s.

THey won’t ship internationally now with the new regulations - see note at bottom of this page.

Best one I have tried so far is AW protected, actual capacity tested at 1439mAh @ 1amp constant.

Thanks folks, your results match mine exactly.
I should have bought some a few months ago, there were Sanyo’s on ebay.

Something will come up I’m sure.

Hi!

I've ordered some 18500 Sanyo batteries - Unprotected and Protected (by the best circuit available) due here, with a little luck, within 1 to 2 weeks. I will try to keep them in stock from that point on.

Pricing is due out within one to two days.

Please advise me regarding what your intended use is for this size battery.

I also expect to receive 18350s. Since 2 of those can replace one 18650, one of their uses is clear but I wonder what other uses there might be.

Best Regards,

-Bob-

I’d love to have protected 18500’s to use in 3x CR123A flashlight - at the moment I’m using 2x 18650 with a extension tube, but it is just too long in this configuration, and extension tube’s anodizing doesn’t matches anodizing of light itself so it looks kind of ugly.

Hi!

Thank you for the input about the 18500s. May I ask what type of flashlight you're using. Also, do you think the size has much appeal to others?

Thank You and Best Regards,

Bob

It’s a custom-built light, but it uses body of FF STL-V2.
No idea whether other people care more about size or capacity (after all, 18650’s have 2x more capacity than 18500’s, being just 30% longer).

I had Sanyo 18500s (protected and unprotected) on order for DHL shipment this week but there didn't seem to be enough interest to justiify the MOQ. There will be many, many (hundreds and hundreds) of batteries arriving so the factory reduced the MOQ on an additional type to 50 but I was so unsure about demand for this size that I cancelled the 18500.

The price for the (REALLY good) Sanyo UR18500F would be about $5 unprotected and about $6 protected. By the way, wait until you see what we'll be offering BLF members as a price for the new Panasonic NCR18500B 3400! (Check back late Sunday.)

SHOULD I ADD SOME 18500s BACK ON TO THE SHIPMENT? I have one day to make that decision.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Best Regards,

Bob

I would certainly be in for 2 18500s but I doubt that would be enough interest if you wanted to order 50. How long will it be until we can start reserving batteries?

I’d take 6-pack (most likely either all protected, or 4 protected / 2 unprotected), if you can ship them outside of US for reasonable price.
