Identify this chip please :)

Hi BLF,

I was wondering if anyone recognized this IC chip. It comes in a SOT-8 package in the driver for the Ultrafire Stainless Steel C3 and I was wanting to mod it.

Thanks for checking it out!

Also, are chips swappable? For example, would I be able get an Atmel chip, program it, and then replace the original one with it?

Here.

Thanks scaru.

Has there anyone been able to program PIC chips?

I know Atmel chips have been reprogrammed (in the perfect modes thread) but how’s the progress with PIC’s?

I'm pretty sure that PilotPTK uses PIC chips on his triple XM-L modules, it may be worth a shot asking him for advice.

Yup, I’ll send him a PM.

Thanks a lot!

Just looked it up and PilotPTK uses the PIC12F1840 chip.

Tido also has ported his firmware BLF-VLD to PICs like the 12F629. He planned to release a new version of BLF-VLD including the PIC port.

Thanks for your replies guys. Unfortunately it seems I fried the driver because I accidentally reversed the input polarity. I’m such an idiot. :frowning:

On the bright side, I’ve reassembled my C11 light sold here.

Because of the SMO reflector, the beam profile is horrible, but it throws pretty well.

Anyway, I noticed how there wasn’t any visible PWM in the med or low modes—I like it a lot.

Does anyone recognize this driver? I want to sense resistor mod it but have trouble finding where it actually is. (Does it even have one?)

Cheers!
(BTW, I’m in love with this community; the amount of sheer friendliness is overwhelming!)

Little brownie above”DS” is a capacitor. Anything on the other side?
