Excellent report on the xpg 2 P60. What specific reflector did you use? I've noticed this makes a big difference with any emitter. For example, the smooth reflector on the MF UF 3-mode xml blows away the generic smooth reflector that comes with most drop-in kits. Same goes for the smooth reflector from the SF low voltage xp-g drop-in...I wish I could buy just those reflectors.
I'm currently going through the various supply sites and seeing what's out there for xp-g specific reflectors (Much like the xp-g reflector in the SB s-mini...dang near perfect beam for the xp-g2).
I’ve got an XP-G2 running in a Dereelight P60 XP-G/E SMO reflector (with the emitter-side bored open slightly) and after some height adjustments, it gets a nice and tight beam.
I’ve also tried the XP-G2 with the SMO reflector from a Solarforce 0.8-4.2v XP-G module but it does not want to focus at all. Weird, considering how well it does with the XP-G.
Hope this not posted in the wrong section but does anybody know where I can get one of these in a drop-in? I don’t think Erik has any of these yet. I have tried Manafont and Kaidomain but with no results. I have a UF WF501b light that has a dead xenon drop-in and would love one of these XP-G2 drop-ins in it. Thanks in advance.
Awesome info, and exactly what I was looking for. Looks like I'll remove two 7135's from my 105C and run it at 2.1 amps on high in my Mag with Rebel reflector. Thanks for this data Match!
Put one in KD small hole reflector empty dropin module and the beam is nice. Driving with a KD V2 2.2a driver. Its a nice bright setup. Gets warm pretty fast in my L2m running SF protected blue and white. Definately recomend that setup. I have one more xpg2 and going to try it in a big reflectored light just havent decided which one to try it in. Maybe the Jacob A60, or maybe the ebay ultraok 57mm head.
Well I got my 2D mag with XP-G 2 and Rebel reflector done. Just shining it in the house i'm impressed! Had a 3 x 7135 driver sitting around, and I meant to add 3 more 7135's, but wasn't thinking and added 4. So running at 2.4 amps I'm really hitting the max lumens :)
