Trustfire TR-1200 5xQ5 or SSC P7 2-18650?

I purchased a Trustfire SSC P7 from everbuying after receiving it it worked for 10-20 seconds and quit I tried 2 new charged 18650 batterys and then the led had a very dull glow turned off and would not turn back on. I sent the light back on my dime $7 for a refund of $34 when they recieve it. I had an issue with a non working laser from them and this is what they told me to do.

1) Take to local repair shop to fix I can refund you some of the mony.

2) I can give you best discount on other items

3) send back for refund

How you like this idea?

It was for a gift so I didn't have 3-weeks to wait for a replacement so I took best discount. So this is where I am at now. I am looking for a light that will perform well for observing animals at night from a distance and can be used for spoting fish in lakes and rivers. Most of my uses would be geared twords fishing, hunting and camping. After e-mailing them that I would like to know best discount on the TR-1200 5xQ5 or the p7 they said $30 for this order. If any advice on what light I shuld choose would be apprieciated. By the way the laser was $21.

Thanks Dave

The TR-1200 should be best if you need to cover longer distances.

I have read their are driver issues with the TR-1200. Is this light better than a P7 even if underdriven?

5*Q5 blows 1*P7 out of the water, in total output and considering the reflectors of the TR-1200, in throw too.

It depends on how underdriven it is. I think that if the Q*5 TR-1200 is driven at 60%, it will be the same than the P7, but with more runtime, anyway I haven't read about this problem.

Is their any way to get more power to the driver?

If you look at neverbuying on the list of dealers you'll see it is Mr.Administrators least favorite //most disliked site ..

If you are a dealer planning on cheating a customer ..

My suggestion is don't do it to a guy who owns a forum dedicated to flashlights :).

As to your question I would ask what experiance you have with any lights recently ..It's clear you have 18650's and a charger .Are they any good ?.If I were going to buy something from an oddball bad dealer it would only be for a few reasons .

#1 it couldn't be found from anyone else ... but even that means they don't have it either and will just hold your money for ransom for a couple months .

#2.i'd buy something so universal that No one has ever had a problem with .. like a solarforce body ...

and then I would avoid them like the plague ....that's just me

here is what people think about them here on this forum http://budgetlightforum.cz.cc/node/338

I ordered a ss-004 angle flashlight / headlamp from them that also went bad.

I ordered a ss-004 angle flashlight / headlamp from them that also went bad. Made a request for helping the issue... 0 response, made a playpal complaint, they replied mostly junk and very unhelpfull. Made the claim and asked a measly 5usd refind and they agreed.

They will never see a penny from me.

Thanks for the good info. I have 2-new ultrafire 18650's 4000mAH and 2-ultrafire 3800mHA both sets were charged and worked fine in my Cree Q5. I thought I had too many flashlights untill I found this forum, now I know there is nothing wrong with me and that I need more lights "wife permiting". I don't have any thing other than my Q5 that is as bright as the stanley led spotlight I lost out of the back of my snowmobile, my Rayovac extreme rated 180LM is ok. Other than that I have a few $2-$3 led pocket lights.

No way will I ever deal with Neverbuying again. I don't realy understand the discount they are offering me, I told them I was interisted in one of the two flashlights In my e-mail to them "p7 and tr1200" and their responce was $30 for this order "how do you want pay" I told them paypal then I got a e-mail from paypal requesting $30. I am going to ask them to e-mail me conformation on what is to be shipped. All this BS is from a $21 broken laser pointer.

True. There is no such thing as "too many lights" until they won't all fit in your house. I own around 140 of them and don't even come close. But since the lady in my life is a huge dog, i don't have the problems that some do. As long as there's food and water in her bowls she doesn't care how many lights I buy.

Thanks everyone for the help! Still not 100% certain on my choice after reading other posts about driver issues just gona hope I get a working flashlight this time around. Oh by the Don you are a lucky guy.
