Somebody please come out with an 80,000 lumen handheld torch..................

already. This buying every torch with an increased increment of 500 lumen improvement over the last one is driving me crazy.

I think I can settle for 80,000 lumens and call it a night for good. I can live with that number and feel pretty good about myself although there’s got to be a theoretical retina lumen limit our peepers can take I think. I don’t know what that is but I think we’re quickly approaching it. H)

Btw, I wonder what the absolute limit is gonna ultimately be with these things in the next 10 years before they become legally licensed flame throwers. I accidently flicked on the @%$*#! Skyray earlier this evening full blast in my face and I’m still seeing the Orion Constellation. :open_mouth:

I guess I could knock 100,000 lumens off my 180,000 lumen light…

Are you Sirius?…… :open_mouth:

Any optometrists out there that can comment on what we’re doing to those two pliable shiny things in our skulls btw?

Yep. I also did a 540,000 lumen light, but it is line powered/water cooled only.

’cause this guy built a 20,000 lumen and he’s wearing welder goggles I think. So you’re telling us you’ve basically have 9 of those strapped together in a handheld? Or put a different way some of us can relate to, 70 Skyray Kings.

Are you in charge of running the main searchlight for the U.S.S Reagan by any chance? :open_mouth:

pictures. i want to see it.

Don’t we all… unfortunately it is under a non-disclosure agreement. Nothing special about the light itself, but the intended application is. Pictures might provide too many clues about that.

You can build your own, though. Take 3 dozen Bridgelux BXRA-C9000 arrays, drive them a 5A each. Enjoy…

I think after a certain point that they should rate them in btu’s instead of lumens.hY

You want lumen ‘BTUs’?

Here’s some but don’t mess around without wearing a Nomex suit or not have a fire extinguisher handy…………………… :open_mouth:

Here ya go . . just a little off your target. Be sure to get 15 so you can give me and some of the other BLF family one. 0:)

Let’s see, 15 of those will run me $189,000. And a marriage. So make it an even $1,900,000 out the door. :open_mouth:

Ok, I have to make a decision here.

Well, the battery alone does weigh over 40 pounds… (dual 16S A123 20Ah LiFePO4 cells) pumping out around 2 kW. 1 hour runtime on max.

I know you said no pics, but beamshots? :P

that beamshots will disclose his location to half the North American continent. :open_mouth:

Just give the Chinese chance for the xm-l2 to come out, one bazillion lumens? No worries, comes with two 25000mah 16340 inr’s and charger, ten dolla….

I’d be happy with 8k lumens, batterypowered and handheld for under $100.

I look forward to that day

Either way you still have family here, buddy!

Having a look around and found this 100W 12 x 18650 monster.

Maybe this is the way to do it

That’s not a flashlight. That’s an LED which happens to be surrounded by some aluminum tubing. :expressionless: :money_mouth_face: :open_mouth: :*
