Are you Sirius?……
Any optometrists out there that can comment on what we’re doing to those two pliable shiny things in our skulls btw?

Yep. I also did a 540,000 lumen light, but it is line powered/water cooled only.
’cause this guy built a 20,000 lumen and he’s wearing welder goggles I think. So you’re telling us you’ve basically have 9 of those strapped together in a handheld? Or put a different way some of us can relate to, 70 Skyray Kings.
Are you in charge of running the main searchlight for the U.S.S Reagan by any chance?
pictures. i want to see it.
i want to see it.
Don’t we all… unfortunately it is under a non-disclosure agreement. Nothing special about the light itself, but the intended application is. Pictures might provide too many clues about that.
You can build your own, though. Take 3 dozen Bridgelux BXRA-C9000 arrays, drive them a 5A each. Enjoy…
I think after a certain point that they should rate them in btu’s instead of lumens.hY
You want lumen ‘BTUs’?
Here’s some but don’t mess around without wearing a Nomex suit or not have a fire extinguisher handy……………………

Here ya go . . just a little off your target. Be sure to get 15 so you can give me and some of the other BLF family one. 0:)
Realizing that lots of people pretend they're holding a deadly weapon when wielding a flashlight, the makers of the Dogstar designed it to look like a handheld cannon straight out of a sci-fi epic. The beam is even turned on using a trigger instead...
Let’s see, 15 of those will run me $189,000. And a marriage. So make it an even $1,900,000 out the door.
Ok, I have to make a decision here.

Well, the battery alone does weigh over 40 pounds… (dual 16S A123 20Ah LiFePO4 cells) pumping out around 2 kW. 1 hour runtime on max.
I know you said no pics, but beamshots? :P
that beamshots will disclose his location to half the North American continent.
Just give the Chinese chance for the xm-l2 to come out, one bazillion lumens? No worries, comes with two 25000mah 16340 inr’s and charger, ten dolla….

I’d be happy with 8k lumens, batterypowered and handheld for under $100.
I look forward to that day
Ok, I have to make a decision here.
Either way you still have family here, buddy!
Having a look around and found this 100W 12 x 18650 monster.

Maybe this is the way to do it
That’s not a flashlight. That’s an LED which happens to be surrounded by some aluminum tubing. :money_mouth_face: :*

100W into that Chinese LED array will be struggling to put out 6000 lumens. Add optics and you will probably see 4500 lumens. Been there, done that.
How about 90 000 lumens bike light ?
Seen from 9km away
Here you can read more about this crazy project
