Didn’t even read the run times you posted.

2AA 24 hours on 100 lumens :expressionless: are these chinese hours?

I don’t think so. It shows the same specs everywhere else and I think Terralux is an American company. It is plausible though, given a very efficient driver.

My klarus ST20 gets 5 hours on 125 lumens and that’s considered pretty good, so naturally I’m quite skeptical at the 24 hours on 100 lumens claim.

I don’t think I’ve seen another light with such great runtime numbers, even the 3 hours on 300 lumens is pretty good.

Only way I could see it as possibly happening is if the light steps down considerably.

I finally signed on here because of the deal I got from BatteryJunction because of jmpaul320’s post.

My email receipt shows a price of $20.09 for the Terralux flashlight before shipping; the colors were sold out but I was still happy able to order the gray color (I bought other stuff too but the total for saver shipping was only $4.52)

Isn’t this less than the Amazon price? The link I clicked on from above just now says $27.99

I can’t get into a big argument about lumens and lux and stuff, but I thought $20 was a really good price, and it seems like a good flashlight.

Did I make a mistake?

No I thought OP made a mistake since when I clicked the link it showed $29.99, but after reading your post I got it in the cart and it shows $20 in checkout. Maybe it’s a price mistake?

Not sure if it’s a mistake, since I’m not familiar with the light and I can’t find any reviews on it. Would be a winner in my book if those runtimes are accurate.

Btw welcome

Thank you for the welcome

I am looking at my email receipt asval and it says “SUPER BLOWOUT SALE” so I hope it’s not a mistake :frowning:

I read reviews on Amazon and it seemed to be to me a good light for the price so I hope I get it (I tried to put the nicer colors in the BatteryJunction shopping cart but they were sold out. The gray will be ok though)

100 lumens on 2 AAs for 24 hours? That’s not going to happen.

I had a Terralux penlight that was supposed to have 80 lumens according to Terralux. My Pelican 1920 is claimed to have 67 lumens and somehow it is MUCH brighter than the Terralux. In short, I don’t believe Terralux anymore.

I do not believe that data.
I’ll wait for someone on the forum can confirm (but I’ll wait a long, long time ……).

lol i typed that on my phone… i have one of these in my car… it starts tapering after about 10 hours and after 20 hours its probably 15 lumens… but still its a well built light imo… throw it in the glove box for emergencies

Thanks for the information. The data are not too bad.

Terralux runtimes have been overstated for years ..

That's how they sell their lights ..

They just lie ..

neat trick that actually works ...sorta ..once maybe ..

I guess the best way to find out runtimes from TerraLux is to divide it in half.

I agree with Boaz that the high output and runtime is exaggerated but I’m glad I got the “300” for the $20 stated above from batteryjunction.com: fast delivery and it’s a solid light that has a good amount of bright flood for those late night trips out to the curb with the garbage, ’round the house, etc. Light on low with eneloops is pretty good and the runtime is really increased. It might just wind up in the car with some lithium batteries for emergencies in the future… lifetime warranty is a plus.

Thanks again to jmpaul320 for the “heads-up”

At 100lm/W that would be 24Wh. 2xAA would not be capable of that. One AA is around 3Wh, so two AA might give 6h at 100lm. Even that sounds like a stretch.
