Review: BTU Shocker (3 x XM-L T6 NW | 3 x 18650)

Product link in OP is wrong. Otherwise a teriffic review. Thanks.

Much thanks for the review.
I was really surprised at the size, it’s the same height as the Thrunite TN31.
Seeing how short it is, and looking at the weight, it must be built like a tank.
I agree with JohnnyMac, I think you numbers are conservative.

That pill does no have many threads reminds me of the TK35 clone.

its not a pill, afaik - just a driver holder. emitters are mounted on integral part of head.

Great review -the-. Sorry I don't follow the general enthusiasm for this $150 light, 80kcd isn't impressive for the price, and the output is just at King's level. Given the hype that this was called "super thrower"... hmmmph... not quite there. Maybe beamshots will tell a different story, but right now I'm not too impressed.

my guess is that we see <$100 by summer

Thanks for informing me. Fixed. :)

Wow - great review as always, the
Thanks

Would be interesting to see the difference a CW makes.

Well, it looks like the Shocker is a win in my book. Thanks for ‘the’ review, the! While 80kCd is less than I expected, that’s still up there with the good throwers in the price range, and evidently build quality is right up there as well. A 9.4cm UCL or AR window would net even more output. Not to hassle you or anything, but I’m guessing you tested out measuring lux at further distances like 10m?

If you aren’t impressed, tell me the other 18650 multi-xml that throws even half this well for the price. Xtar S1 at 65k and $200?

Wow - Great output and great throw … fantastic combination, and the price is amazing for what you get.

Sounds like this will easily trump the Elektrolumens ST90 (SST-90 direct driven) which I just received, as that one is only giving me approx 2000 lumen with a floody throw easily beat by my Sunwayman T40CS U2!

Will hold off until the price drops though …

The tk75 should be close when it comes out

Nice review_the_thanks for doing this.I was wondering if you plan to use the dry diver at some point,as I understand it is more powerful than the digital regulated driver. The BTU is pretty beefy and hard not to want, except for the price.I am anxious to see outdoor shots maybe BTU vs TN31?

Thank you for the great review…

Great review the, I don’t know if I’m going to sleep tonight after reading it now that customs has finally released mine back to DHL about 3 hours ago. Hopefully tomorrow when i’m off work I will have a nice parcel waiting for me when I get home! I just hope all my camera gear hasn’t sold by then so I can use one of them to take some pictures tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice review, and light. Thanks!

thanks for the much awaiting review on this light! when you get the chance, could you post some beamshots up against the tn31 and king please.

Looks awesome .

TK70 vs BTU vs TK75

I want all these together in a ring, and somebody to get killed with a Trident.
