Review: Eagtac EagleTac SX25L3 MT-G2 review

Ok, nice observation on it. Can you tell me if you loosen the head one full rotation, does it have a soft wobble to it? The neutron 1a did, not that you need to loosen it that far to get firefly mode in real world use.

From the table it would appear that the D25A performs terribly on a 14500.

Oh so it’s no longer like Quarks, that’s actually a + in my books. I like to have different manufacturers to have different UI’s so I have a better chance to find what I like

I have the T10 and use it with L91 batteries, I don’t have a scale but they fell about half the weight at a guess of a NiMh and 1.7v make them a bit brighter.

I’ve Archer 1C light with nice discounts. Thanks for update.

I have a T10 and a Neutron 1A. Now I want to try a Thrunite XP-G2, but it is a big question; buy the Saber 1a or buy the Archer 1A?. Is a difficult decision :weary: . I will continue reading your data.

Buy both and be happy

Nice review, kreishill

Get the new archer to really take advantage of the extra output and throw or buy both and sell what you don’t like after trying it out.
Your neutron 1a will not be outdated by the Archer, they’ll have much different beams. Neutron 1a is roughly 500 lumens on a 14500, the archer will out throw it

Just received my new archer. WOW! Really bright & long throw. And all this with a 1xAA.

Color me happy:)

Hi fdr, what battery were you using?

I am using a 900 mAh trustfire.

The o-rings seemed fine on mine. I read somewhere else someone complaining about the o-rings getting chewed up, but I cant see how that’s possible unless they tried to remove (unscrew) the clip retaining ring without taking the o-ring off first. Or maybe just some people got a bad batch of o-rings?

I mean it seems as if maybe they have been trying to unscrew the retaining ring over top of the o-ring instead of taking the o-ring off first then unscrewing it.

Just a theory cos it doesn’t even grab the tiniest bit on mine, but its odd that I read about the o-rings twice in 1 day from different places.

Would you guys say that the Archer throws better than Balder SE-1 with R3 or Xtar WK26 with R3?
I got an old and a new Balder, old one was OP reflector, new one is SMO and throws great.

I got the ThruNite Archer 1A by bit @german eBay-sites for 40$ (32€).

waitin for the flashlight from China, I hope gettin it soon. I have eneloop lsd here and will try the output first with them, but lookin forward to the brighter output with 14500.
My question, will it be ~ two times as high compared to a single eneloop 1900mah lsd cell then - may be 300 lumens?

so I found this combination of charger & 14500 cells on FastTech:
Nitecore NL147 14500 750mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Lithium Battery
SC-S7 1*NiMH/Li-Ion, US Soshine SC-S7 LCD Universal Ni-MH/Lithium Smart USB/AC Battery Charger / Flat to Round Power Plug Converter

everything (2 cells, charger + US-EU converter) just for 27,5$

did anybody ever try this combi or should I ask, are there better cells & chargers (besides Pila, which may be to expensive) out there?
may be this newer one would be better choice I think, but not yet available Soshine SC-L2
and whats about these 14500 cells from thrunite-store? : 4x Soshine Li-ion 3.7V 14500 800mAh Protected Rechargeable Battery
& more important: which 14500 cells will certainly fit instead of eneloop in the Archer 1A, are there any known problems?

by the way: big Thanks to kreisler for this excellent review on the Archer 1A —Danke—

Nice analysis Kreisl, but with the Archer (and Saber) lights, I’d guess there was not too much development cost - these are essentially just Neutron (and T10) lights with new emitters. If your numbers are right, I agree, hardly worth the effort, but it hasn’t really cost them much.

Gotcha…… thanks for the sanity check

got my archer-1a from china!

very impressive small flash light, eneloop works very well, really throws about 50-60 meters.
a tint is in full, pure snow-white, nothing blue, green or purple.
now i’am lookin’ for 14500 + charger from FastTech and like to order the O-rings as well.
the original ones are suddenly damaged as we know, so these are the right O-rings, Kreisler?
Water-tight O-Ring Seals (5-Pack)

which charger + 14500 do you recommend?

o.k., so that’s really a faulty construction on archer.
i’ll try to get 15.0 x 17.5 x 1.25 in a hungarian “water installation shop”.
if those don’t fit too, i’ll be careful and don’t put the archer into water…… J)

why your neighbour doesn’t use the archer?

I live in the city, in a country with no power outages for the last 20 years, my camping days are as good as over, I do not need flashlights either but I don't care: I invent as many uses of them as possible while waiting for the zombie apocalypse :ghost:
