At least the body etching is spelt correctly..and claims to be an L2. Despite not being a genuine SF it's quite a good host for ~$9, and it tailstands.
Main interest is the wonders of the U2 right?
First it ain't green......at all. This is a hurried shot onto a pale blue wall T6 (sm reflector) on the left, U2 (OP) on the right.
It seems to be equivalent brightness to the T6, but has a slightly tighter beam.
Arrived this morning. Very poor package.. I have only one minute so i just checked if it's the right flashlight with the right emitter and all seems to be ok.
I'll made a review soon.
Ok, chinese lottery. First attempt - I lose :| UF drop-in comes with two BIG splats on emitter. Here's the pic (actually it's much worse)
The holster... well, not bad at all for less than $3, but very, very rough (for me, of course). The description says: Fits Flashlight Torch with 172mm(L) x 39mm(W) x 27mm(H)
Man, if my L2P were 0,5 cm longer, it wouldn't fit :~ And AFAIK, L2P is 140 mm long. But yeah, width is super big/wide, can fit 2 L2Ps :~ So, that proportions doesn't fit normal P60 very well IMO, but for a slightly wider lights it's a good holster :) And I bought this model because of this review (@ MF):
Haven't tried the dropin (need to charge my 18650), but I think those spots will be very visible with SMO reflector. Dissapointed :(
PS: should I email MF and ask the replacement for dropin? What do you think?
jamesearljones... just had the same issue with a MF XM-L drop-in. I don't know what they're doing to these things, but he took pictures and was able to get it resolved. It's at the end of this thread:
It is very difficult to compare them with a flashlight, because the beam is much wider, and the color is much warmer (yellow). I think they have just painted the domes over the leds with some kind of yellow paint. I would like to see some led-lamps with the same Cree leds we use in the better flashlights, they have a much better color reproduction than the very cheap yellow leds the are putting in the led-spotlamps. XM-L's would be very nice, but those lamps would be more expensive...
The DX XM-L 5-mode drop in is much brighter, and it is also about 5W on high. We should be building our own led lamps to use at home...
Yay 2 new envelopes today, still double fun!... I cant rememebr what one of them contains... like Totally cant.
Well heres the opening of one of them, really cute packaging! Except for the fact that that string is actually all thats holding it in!!!
Single AA torch for scale only. Clip is not for this torch.
Apparently the other one is a motherboard ATX connector adapter for the 12V line, which I was meant to use for the power cable, but it came with an interesting little red string ornament (seen in above pictures) and a A5 paper typed up saying thanks for the order, we hoped it arrived in time, please give 5 stars on ebay or let us know, etc... Not bad for a $1 item, with free shipping!!
I received an Exduct order today. It seems shipping from various Hong Kong vendors has been pretty fast lately. 12 days from order.
I got a Sanrenmu 909 and a Ganzo G704. These are great knives. Nice and big, super sharp. The 909 is mine and the Ganzo is my sons. Time to retire my Leatherman from EDC duty, I’m carrying the 909.
I got mine from them a few days ago and I'm quite happy with it too. It opens very easily and I think the green G10 is very attractive. Today I got the 962 I bought off eBay - just before they appeared at DB for half the price I paid. But it's a nice knife and I don't mind too much. My first with a 'spidey' hole. I think I may get a few more of the 900 series before they become hard to find.
I want to gain some experience with other emitters. I was surprised at how few low voltage XR-E drop-ins I was able to find. (in the 10 minutes I was willing to invest looking)
