Nitecore EA4 L2 (XM-L2) Announcement and Crazy Sale!

I almost fell off my chair when I read the International chart!

I’ve often wondered if the shipping is subsidized in China but Google searches tend to indicate not. But obviously the Gov’t there must have realized how important it is to business to make sure they have a competitive edge in the International marketplace.

I didn’t realize that we are even better off in Canada. For example I just shipped a 6lb package from Canada to USA (via ‘Expedited Parcel-USA’), I can track it, and the total was $18.42. Looks like the USPS Priority Mail rate for this would be $41.00.

I wonder if the recent USPS rate hikes were thought to be stimulating the economy.

Wow, I sent a Magic Fire Scorpion HID to China a few months ago for under $20. Guess I won’t be able to do anything like that again!

I was involved in a rc racing boat club.if members ordered from china ,hong kong 99% of the time no matter what the value the item would arrive at address ,no import ,duty or vat to pay. However if sent by usps they would arrive by courier at the door with x amount of vat import duty to pay .You have to pay the courier before u receive your parcel.if sent by another method from usa 99% of the time they would b held at a local depot until dutys were paid then delivered to you.You could also collect if it was more convenient. Not forgetting there handling charge which i think is £11 now.

I do find it mildly amusing that the land of capitalism and market forces can’t complete with a state owned communist postal service on price. Mind you, Germanic efficiency also seems to be somewhat lacking from ‘Saxe-Coburg Mail’ here in the UK.

The mail order business has been the saviour of the UK postal service. Go to pick up a package at the weekend and it’s a sea of Amazon boxes and other on-line retailers behind the counter. I’ve not gotten the figures but there must be more post moving round the planet than ever before. Why prices have hiked so badly in the western markets over the last couple of years I just can’t understand.

They are wired 4S (pretty sure) and if you put 14500s in it you will instantly kill it.

that’s correct - no 14500s for this light!

eneloops work great in this light

They sure do. I'm playing with mine right now........The EA4 that is!! sheesh, you guys have filthy minds!

i assumed you were playing with your hair

Ordered the xml2 version, cause I’m weak. Thanks for offering these

Agreed it can be annoying shipping to Canada from the US. And the big increase in USPS costs has made it even worse. (In fairness to the USPS, FedEx and UPS costs have gone a mile high over the past couple of years, so you had to figure they’d get in on the action too.)

On the other hand, I ordered my EA4 XM-L2 from Illumination Supply Feb 14 and it arrived today Feb 19!

In a very well packaged proper box, not the abused bubble pack mailers we get so often get from China.

So I’ll continue to use Fasttech for batteries and budget lights, but for something really nice I’m going with Illumination Supply, my experience with them has been superb!

+1 i had to get one… I love my ea4w too much and itneeds a cw friend

any tint shift? flickering? does the light function ok?

if everything seems ok, then its probably fine… at the worst maybe you shortened the life of the emitter by 2 or 3 hours, but with a 20,000 hour life span who cares

more orange-ish

heres a photo of various tints… which one do you like best?

That’s really interesting about the Canadian shipping rates because there is a guy on LPF that sells LPM’s that charges $39.99 (Canadian) <1lb for shipping to the USA and says he can’t control the high cost of shipping because the rates are so high. Worst is he charges UK etc $69.99 (Canadian) same parcel………now we know that is BS.

Canada poste is all over the board, its cheaper for me to ship to the USA than it is to other Canadians.

daveam, Did you recall how much you paid for shipping and if any duties were charged? Trying to gauge the total cost for the EA4 XM-L2 to Canada.

I just got the ea4 xm-l2 and was just wandering is my ea4 defected…or its the ea4 all the same….with new new battery that the only time when u could go to turbo mode, but when battery get to about 90% which is still full…I cant go to turbo mode…not unless the battery life at 91% and up then it go to turbo…im using non rechargeble aa Duracell battery…help help

Yes, without Nimh batteries you won’t get much more turbo than your getting.
Alkalines voltage sags pretty quick, energizer lithium or Nimh cells are the way to go.
