Heider CF1 = $10 SIPIK SK68?

It might be worth finding out how much it will be to send back (tracked). A refund on the light is better than nothing.

Yeah, I would look into cancelling the cheque and sending it back, but you might have to contact the courier about it or face some questions.

You get insurance on basic airmail, so if it gets lost you could claim it back again.

The LEDs are driven quite hard, in the $10 versions at up to 150% of their rated max current. You should still see a good few thousand hours of use out of them though. It’s the battery and circuit that are likely to break first.

Thank you Chloe & RedForest.

I will see if I can send it back and also the carrier about the charges/cheque.

Thank you also for the information about how the LEDs are driven.

If you paid via paypal or credit card, you might argue (on whatever grounds seem most reasonable to you — say, perhaps, it didn’t work or that the switch was sporadic, which happens when the retaining ring around the switch is loose) that the item delivered was significantly not as described (SNAD). You might have to return it via a trackable method, but that shouldn’t cost too much. And if someone in the postal service removed the torch and replaced it with a rock that weighed about the same as the torch before it got to Turkey, then paypal would still side with you, as you have proof of shipment/delivery.

DD was caught doing it

i think we have all done this at one time or another. i spent almost $100 on my first ecig kit consisting of two manual 510 batteries, 10 cartridges and a charger |(

it is too bad people are doing this crap…

An update:

Supertorch did not reply to my email so I called them. The lady said she would reply to my email with details on returning the torch. In the email it states that all custom duties, fees and levies are my responsibilities. So I have asked what these will be.

As far as I know, for any goods entering to customs in Turkiye,
if it is over €75, you will pay customs and handling fees.

I do not know what they do about return shipments, unopened and undelivered to the destination.

I have returned a keyboard from EU, just because it requires a power of attorney document that costs about $60.
But the sender paid for the return shipping so I do not know about the cost to them.

The carrier must know all about these costs.

2 days ago I purchased this torch from supertorch.eu.

I didn’t shop around since the $49 price tag seemed ok.

Not sure if the $5 ones on Ebay are the same.

All I know is that it shipped from Turkey and got to my front door in 2 short days. I’m sure that wasn’t cheap.

I love the torch. It is very bright for the size and the smallish battery. I love that it is so compact. This light rocks.

Could I have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, maybe. But to call this a scam is out of line.
A scam is when you pay for something and you either don’t get it or you get some misrepresented product that sucks.

This is neither. This product is as advertised. The price includes super fast shipping, no tax, and a “free” charger and battery.

Again, if someone names a price you don’t have to buy it from them. You can always shop around.

I am happy with my purchase.

Welcome to BLF, rafaelque!

I’m glad you are happy with your purchase! Honestly, I would feel bad if it were me, which is why I prefer to research first. Caveat emptor.

Hi Guys

I just wanted to thank you all for saving me a fair bit of cash, I was all set to buy the Heider CF2 for $100 au but a google search brought me here. I read through the comments then went on Ebay and found a similar torch using the CREE XM-L T6 LED for $19.00 au plus delivery so thanks again the Heider ads and pics had me hook line and sinker

regards

Alby

Your head will explode when you see a real torch!

Marc.

Well I’m glad you are happy, so in all seriousness (as to the data and facts) I can offer you a Super B42 Skyray King that outputs 10x the amount of light that your flashlight produces for only $449.99! Yes, 10x the light but only 9x the price! Is this all that is included in the deal too? No! I’ll include a double cell charger with 4 batteries, 4 top of the line Panasonic 3400s which hold twice the power (each, at least twice, probably 3-4x) of the batteries you have and have protection in case they are overcharged or overheated! The battery you have is low quality and could explode! But not these, they have a specially devised circuit protection designed to protect you from battery explosion! I’ll even pay for priority shipping, all for the low low price of $449.99!

This is the same kind of deal as the one above: the light is as described, output is massive compared to the one you have, you shouldnt miss the opportunity!

Looks like someone is back at it again.
Just saw an advert on facebook, same beam pic as the .eu site, and same priceing.

Hello,
Never been on here before, I have just sent mine back to Heider I was assured that it was free postage, but when it arrived I was informed that UPS wanted £22.46 for an import charge!
They were to told to get stuffed and I am now awaiting a refund to PayPal.
Not happy bunny, is there a torch where the company won’t rip you off and will send for the price shown?

Omg you bought from the worst possible shop

The import charges aren’t the seller’s fault and not really part of the cost. That’s just something you get used to when buying from abroad.

However, you should think yourself lucky you got away with it and can now use that same money to get something 10 times better! Or just buy the same thing for about £5 of course now you know what to look for.

What a rip off.

They are using the Heider name, because it sounds like a traditional German name and therefore good quality. But in reality these torches should be called Metem - a traditional Turkish name synonymous with ripping tourists off in the local bazaar. Turkey is, after all, a nation of cheats.

So yes, these are just cheap torches that sell for $5 on Amazon. They are dressing these torches up as German made, but they are not. They are just cheap Chinese goods, sold for an extortionate price.

Yes, I fell for it. But I will never buy from Turkey ever again. As I said, a nation of scammer and cheats, where the national sport is ripping off the tourist.

Huh?
Turkish sweets are pretty good.

What a way to join BLF (but I don’t understand most of the above… Turkey? China?).

Welcome to BLF!
