What you got today

I like that bezel better than the stock one for sure but I’m hoping the $5 is better. I just checked my orders and see that both of the bezels I have coming are the $5 one so I’m happy about that. I can’t wait to get some time to attack the stock bezel with the sander!

Today I got two gunmetal gray Solarforce L2i hosts that I plan on giving away once I grind down the bezels and fit them out with some neutral XP-G drop-ins.

Also got another SOIC8 clip for programming Atmel chips on driver boards and am sad to report that it is just as ineffective as the first one, although this one seems a little better made (both were blue Pomona clips from the same eBay supplier). I *might* try getting a new programming board just in case that's where the problem lies. Then I'm done with all of that I'm afraid.

Also this weekend I got a USB-to-everything power adapter from DX for my crank radio's USB power jack. Unfortunately this combination doesn't work with my iPod, fairly old cell phone, or even my Palm (which I don't use anymore anyway). It did power my some other people's cell phones though. Might be neat to get a USB-powered battery charger and see if that works and how much cranking it would take to charge a battery (I'm thinking A LOT).

I got a black Solarforce L2i body and USB programmer. Still waiting for the clip, hope I come away with a winning ticket in the SOIC8 lottery.

A green laser in UF502B body showed up today from gadgettown. If you are looking for a laser that's maybe a little more powerful than the man thinks you should have, I'm just sayin.

Today i received my Ultrafire Stainless Steel C3. 1 minute after i fall in love with this flashlight. Is not so bright but i can't resist the appeal of SS!

Alot today!

1. 10 Bike mounts and 3x 1xAAA el cheapo flashligh (excellent btw! review coming!) 3x 20 pack oring 20mm All togehter USD24.10 Pretty nice the bulkrate if you have a ton of things to order.

2. LED-DNA 3x XM-L T6 on 16mm star for 23usd

3. LCK-LED 4x XM-L T6 on 16mm star for 23,3usd <- LOL should i found that deal sooner!

4. Dropin assembly (reflector SMO + both springs + brass pill) from PA at 2,2usd each. 5 nice ones and 2 came pre-scratched coz they forgot to bag the last two reflectors and the other things inside the mini bag. The pill and springs had their fun skiing on the reflector. Sent RMA ticket.

Pretty much enough for today.

that's funny stuff. Consider it a home-made OP reflector.

It's not OP aither its just a SMo refelctor for flashlight with "charming stars" effect :S

I got one of those a couple of weeks ago (ish), they are really nice and an absolute bargain.

I just ordered a couple of T6's from them last night, really couldn't resist at thoes prices.

Hopefully a not-so-bright one will turn out not to be a hand cremator. On a 14500 on high (250 lumens out of mine), my one is a pretty good test of pain threshold. I can take it for around 4minutes 30 seconds before it hurts too much and I have pretty heatproof hands. A very tough nurse friend of mine who once walked to work on a broken ankle managed 5 minutes.

I think i will use it with AA. Make enough light for what i have to do. If i need more light my XM-L will save me from trouble...

Is there no end to the uses for torches! :P

I might pop a 14500 in mine and give it to a friend who works as a blacksmith/welder - I've seen him on more than one occasion take baked potatoes out of the oven with his bare hands! I was convinced it was down to the job, but then I realised he also drank boiling hot tea without the slightest pause.

I love my C3SS too! Like you said not stunning bright but it is OK and the beam tint is great on mine.

Did you get yours from lightake?

I got the C3 SS luckily from lightake promotion by discussing the thread which was going nowhere. Eventually i managed to post where it woudl matter and realized it 2 posts later. :P. It is hard to browse on a old school blackberry phone that resembles a brick. It is my EDC since. Don't mind the weight. Pretty reliable so far. I pocket it along with am ini multitool and a usb key but got big pockets. :)

I bought it at DX because i have a "coupon" to spend. Really a great light. It could be perfect if instead of 5 mode it has only high-mid-low.

Today I got just a paper... For two flashlights (I think)... Not so budget... But much wanted... Monday is near!

Just got my 400mw 532nm green laser.

I used to be a chemist. One bad day in the lab I picked up what i thought was a cold 500ml beaker of chromic acid (A saturated solution of potassium dichromate in fuming sulphuric acid). It wasn't cold, in fact it wasn't far off boiling. The boiling point is around 325oC. Dropping it meant losing both feet at best. It is also a known carcinogen and mutagen. Basically it is evil stuff - anything organic it doesn't destroy it gives cancer to.

I lost the fingerprints on both hands for a month or two but I didn't drop it. Smelling your own fingers burning is not the nicest thing that can happen to you.

However, just about everyone in a kilometre's radius knew I wasn't happy about it.

I don't have the highest pain threshold, but my hands are pretty heat resistant.

It's not often that choosing to burn your hands is the best option :)
