Would you like to see a feedback section for private BLF transactions?

I would welcome a sub-forum (or rating system) to reward the many positive experiences I've had trading with other members here.

As the forum grows, this may become an even more important issue - especially for the newer members.

Yes, I would love to see a section for that.

Yes but as a sub-forum of the existing member sell section.

I think it’s a good idea.

That way it keeps us all clean and better protected.

Yes. Every other forum has one and I find it quite useful to judge whether to purchase from a seller or not. I recently just bought something from someone and would love to give good feedback for them.

My answer to the subject:
yes!

great idea

Any real lawyers want to chime in on the legal implications and liabilities for the forum to have such a feature? Maybe PM sb about it.

Welcome to the litigation culture

Sad but true Dale, I wouldn’t want to loose such a wonderful forum because some asshat with a grudge

he just needs a good disclaimer. i dont see how a feedback sub forum would be any different than even having a classified sub forum

It sounds like a good idea but then most ideas do. The rule of unintended consequences however takes over all too often. A “good” experience is fairly subjective. Perhaps it should be just the facts and only the facts.

How long did it take to arrive? Was it as described? Etc. possibly just some simple questions to fill in on a form style page. I wouldn’t want to see it turn into a page setup for people to rant about anything and everything. The less personal the better.

+1 on that.

Was just talking about this. Something like iTrader would be great.

+1
I like eBay’s feedback form. It limits you to a certain number of characters, essentially forcing you to state just the facts.

+1 Sometimes one person’s complaint is nothing to another buyer. If someone has to spell out their complaint, e.g., “The box was damaged, but the item was OK.” The seller might be just fine if you are more concerned about using the item than the package.

Instead of a seperate forum, what about a rating system at the person’s profile? I like the idea of clicking on, for eg, ChicagoX’s profle and seeing how many people has given him positive and negative feedback and why.

there is no upside

there is no need

there is no reason

it could get really ugly

that's reason enough not to do it

I prefer the current method, people who have had a happy transaction tend to recommend someone. I dont see the benefit to the forum. If someone has a bad transaction, and its really bad they dont seem to mind starting a post about it.

I’d leave well enough alone myself.

There’s already a grapevine serving the purpose. Open the Pandora’s Box and it’ll denigrate everything.
