Yes. Every other forum has one and I find it quite useful to judge whether to purchase from a seller or not. I recently just bought something from someone and would love to give good feedback for them.
It sounds like a good idea but then most ideas do. The rule of unintended consequences however takes over all too often. A “good” experience is fairly subjective. Perhaps it should be just the facts and only the facts.
How long did it take to arrive? Was it as described? Etc. possibly just some simple questions to fill in on a form style page. I wouldn’t want to see it turn into a page setup for people to rant about anything and everything. The less personal the better.
+1 Sometimes one person’s complaint is nothing to another buyer. If someone has to spell out their complaint, e.g., “The box was damaged, but the item was OK.” The seller might be just fine if you are more concerned about using the item than the package.
Instead of a seperate forum, what about a rating system at the person’s profile? I like the idea of clicking on, for eg, ChicagoX’s profle and seeing how many people has given him positive and negative feedback and why.
I prefer the current method, people who have had a happy transaction tend to recommend someone. I dont see the benefit to the forum. If someone has a bad transaction, and its really bad they dont seem to mind starting a post about it.
