What is your fitness regimen ?

I, uh, get up, let the cats, out feed, them, scratch my backside, have a wash, feed mysels, put a finger up to the wind, determine if it’s going to rain or be howling wet, and dress accordingly. If it’s howling wet I dress appropriately for breakfast, and have a workout consistiing of fried bread, beans, eggs not over-easy, black pudding, chips, beans, more chips, more beans an chips an beans.
If it’s a decent day I’ll pull on my cycling gear and take a wander off out.
That’s it for the day - such a day happens every so often.
I’m fit as a flea, me.

Bicycling to and from work, daily year ’round; except maybe 10 days a year, when it’s just too rainy/windy. And 75+ push ups a day. That’s about it; should be more of a regimen though…

Great thread ....

I think I'll subscribe and get some ice cream and read...

Do video games count ?

Beans beans they're good for your heart ......

I hope so cuz i'm stating to really get into lentils :P

“Walking is man’s best medicine.”

Hippocrates

i usually grab a random training routine from youtube to try out…could be with or without weights…cuz its kind of boring to keep following the same old thing….other than that is mostly cycling for me

4 times a week ‘bodybuilding’ + abs = 8 hours
3-7 times a week cardio (15-60 minutes each session: biking/crosstrainer)

Push-ups, sit-ups, and a timed two-mile run. Throw in 5-6 heaves/pull ups. (ala APFT).

I go to the climbing gym several times a week, climb outside weather permitting (which is very seasonal around here) otherwise it’s hiking (in the mountains) and walking around a nearby in town lake.

“Of all the causes which conspire to render the life of a man short and miserable, none have greater influence than the want of proper exercise.”

“That which is used develops; that which is not wastes away”

Cicero

“Exercise and temperance will preserve something of our youthful vigor, even into old age.”

I wrote up my program wrong.

Training weight is 80% of max.

Day 1: Chest. Overhead press a few sets, no warm up weights or ramping. Switch to bench, work up to training weight, then do sets of 8 over and over again until I feel like stopping. Do front, lateral and rear raise drop sets.

Day 2: Pulls. Pull ups, sometimes with extra weight, and keep doing sets until my injured elbow starts to hurt. Switch to single arm barbell rows. Work up to training weight and keep doing sets at that weight until I feel like stopping. Do shrugs with whatever weight my elbow feels okay with. Switch to curls. Once a week I'll do drop sets, and the other workout that week will just be a couple sets at training weight. Switch to forearm work using weighted engineers hammer, super gripper and a dumbbell.

Day 3: Leg curls, extensions and calf raises.

Most days I'll do a couple sets of curls, HIIT and a couple sets of overhead press. A couple times a week I'll do ab work and spend the time between sets using a foam roller and tennis ball.

This program is geared towards putting on muscle mass and keeping my metabolism high. The tape measure says it's working incredibly well.

before moving in with toni and having the kids, I had a rigorous training regime that resulted in an impressive right arm…… now I keep fit by dint of not being able to afford fatty food and chasing a pair of insane toddlers.

seen here plotting their next mischief.

I dug up this old thread of mine because there are a lot of new members since I posted it .

So how do you keep fit ?

I lift weights twice a week , run stadiums ( stairs ) , and bike .
I also play at least 18 holes of disc golf every weekend .
Actually the exact same routine I’ve had for 20 years .

How do you all stay in shape ?

Sign in my doctor’s office:
I have been hiding from exercise,
I’m in the fitness protection program.

Mainly jumping to conclusions and exercising poor judgment, but making sure to stretch the truth first.

I don’t have to do anything to stay in shape.

That shape being more or less a blob.

Daily walk seven brisk, hilly miles. I’ve logged 10,000 miles in the past four years.

I have invested much energy, time and money to become the pearshaped Adonus I’m today.
Only flaw that I can think of is that I’m built a bit asymmetrical.
I’m considering to grasp and hold every last can of a sixpak with my left hand.

Stronglifts 5x5

I work out. That is, I leave home and go to work delivering products (lots of walking, bending, lifting, and pulling a hand truck). Then I come home and I work some more, unloading the trailer and reloading it for the next day. Typically I get out the door about 8:30 a.m. and finish up outside around 8 or 9 pm. So, I get paid to do aerobics. It’s actually one of the reasons I took this work and have stuck with it, because I know how unlikely I’d be to exercise otherwise.
