DQG 18650 EDC--World's Smallest 18650 Flashlight

I confess.
I’m a fence sitter.
Eagerly awaiting someone to actually have this in their hands.
To tell us if it’s great or not.

But every notification that comes into my email turns out to be another fizzer.
Another, “nearly here”, “I’ve got a tracking number”.

Don’t care - can we stop the prick-teasing - please?

Rant over, and I feel better now. Sorry

Hopefully by the time these are delivered RIC should already have the XM-L2 NW version ready for shipping

This evening I got a call from DHL courier saying I'll get a package. Sounds great! I wonder if it's from Ric, since I haven't got the tracking number yet.

Let's see what it contains..

Ok. Two BTUs. Hmm.. Let's open those small boxes..

Whoaa!! They do exist!

First impressions (and a bit more - I bet you are too anxious to wait for the full review, so..)
- These things are small!! (see comparison pic at the end of this post)
- Some 18650s won't fit. The length is not an issue, but thickness may be:
- Panasonic 3100mAh didn't fit to either of those
- XTAR 18700 2600mAh did fit to other, but got stuck inside the other
- TF flames do fit, same as unprotected NCR18650s
- Tube inner diameter is 18.80mm in one, 19.00mm in other
- No PWM
- Nice tint in both (not green at all, despite of being current controlled!)
- Bright enough, still not overdriven
- Gets hot on high
- Nice low mode (could be even lower for me, but this is good for most)
- Good mode spacing
- Modes are L-M-H, no memory (resets in 5s)
- CW is brighter, as it should
- "Titanium" color looks good (different, not gold, not black)
- Anodizing looks good
- TIR optics seem to work well (a bit ringy spill though)
- Threads were dry, requires lube (especially as being a twisty)

=> Highly recommended (just make sure that your cells will fit!)

Some measurements:

Head diameter: 24.5mm
Tail diameter: 22.6-22.9mm

Weight: 39-41g (83-85g w. batt)

TC currents:
NW: 0.05, 0.55, 1.90A
CW: 0.05, 0.55, 1.90A

And finally some more pics.

Size comparison:

Nice, Teemu, thanks for sharing! The titanium doesn't look bad at all. Great comparison pics. I thought my S20 Baton was small...WOW! As soon as Ric gets the XM-L2 NW in stock I'm going to have to get one. 8)

Very nice +1 or should I say +2

Very nice, thanks for posting!

must… resist… the… temptation!
you’re not making it easier

One more comparison, to AA lights:

Wow that puts it in perspective!

You dont happen to have the DQG AA? :D

the,

Thanks for all that info… It’s like I was “there” :)…

And, now, I’m glad that I got “one of each”, as both the black and the Ti look very good to me!

Jim

P.S. Can hardly wait!

Sure. I'll see if I have time for a quick family portrait tomorrow. :)

How is the clip?

Quite rigid, feels like a good quality. I like it.

See post #67.

Quick throw figures:
- Olight S20 Baton ~3kcd
- DQG 18650 NW ~4kcd
- DQG 18650 CW ~5kcd

(measured at 2m, calculated back to 1m)

Thanks for saving my time. :)

that looks amazing!! small size with big punch!! my tracking still doesn’t work…. hope it just shows up tomorrow… i ordered the XM-L2 though… are these further delayed?

Thanks. :D I think I'll wait for an SS version of the DQG 18650.

the,

I was wondering, when you see these on high, is it like “wow”, like you’d react with an SC52? Or, more like “meh”?

Edit: Does that say “www.btulight.com” on the boxes?
