DQG 18650 EDC--World's Smallest 18650 Flashlight

Mine flickers a lot and skips modes when twisting it, only solution is to twist it really hard to closed every time I turn it on or change modes.
The threads were gritty and dry, but a little cleaning and grease solved that.

Otherwise it’s got the perfect size, fits the palm of my hand nicely, and it’s brighter and throwier than my SC52 on 14500:s.

My Maratacs or Itp:s are a lot better when it comes to that, smoother and more consistent in their mode-changing.

edit oops… confused with a different light altogether… sorry!

Thanks. Not I know I should stay away from all of them

Has anyone been able to confirm the buck only or buck/boost nature of the circuit?

Does it drop out of regulation at a particular input voltage or keep upping it until the 2.5v ‘low voltage protection’ kicks in?

There is no boost and there seems to be no under voltage protection, at around 2.4V input it barely glows.
Tested with lab power supply and long cables and from 3.8V it gives the full ~1.9A on high, I tested up to 4.5V and it was the same current.
I got the XM-L2 version.

Thanks for that. What voltage does it drop below 1.5 amps draw?

Hmm can’t get a stable current reading and tell for sure.
If I try with 3.3V it seems to be to low for 1.5A but it’s fluctuating up and down.
It also seems to warm up very quick which makes forward voltage go down and make it pull more current.

I can’t believe this: Been waiting for these for so long, and they arrive at my house today, but REQUIRED SIGNATURE, and no one was home. AARGH! Now I have to wait for another night/day to get them :)!

I so love that when it works… and absolutely hate it when it doesn’t… at least you have a delivery tag… my mailbox had bills in it….

Got mine this morning, from the post office.

This thing is almost my holy grail of lights.

Almost? How does it compare to your TN31?

N4UD

It’s a lot smaller !

Assembled length = 9cm
Body is a simple 7cm ano tube closed at the tail.
6 front threads, an O-ring groove, no tailcap.
Some knurls, steps, and a clip groove and clip.
Very light.

4 coil 1cm high spring is jammed into the base.

The head is 2.5cm long, 2 threads screw on SS bezel, O-ring, TIR.
The pill and driver are behind a partition with the LED poking through a hole.

Colour: kind of olive green/khaki.

Tiny 18650, 3 mode.

Could be my next standard for EDC lights.

More of an EDC then a SC52 or the XIAOZHI?

Hi Guys ,

Here is to inform you that the factory made a mistake when assemblying DQG 18650 O ring,Which makes the beam a bit ringy (as “the” said in his post).

Here is the right way to install Head-O-Ring.

Below is the Optic lens picture, The O ring should be installed to The “Green” position.

Could you please take out the head o ring and install it again? It will make the beam perfect.

It’s very easy. Only 2 steps

1. Take the Head O-Ring off

2. Install the O-ring to Right position.

Thanks
Ric

Are you saying that the O-ring is in one position (green?) and to move it to a different position (blue?)? It’s hard to see the lines on the interior of your drawing.

Edit: Or did you mean to move it from the blue position to the green position? FYI, I don’t have the lights yet, so can’t visualize it :).

Wouldn't the ring in the blue position be a lot smaller though?

No. The O-ring was installed between TIR and bezel, but it should be between TIR and body.

I'm currently testing the effects of this change.. Please stay tuned.

My guess is that it means that now the o-ring is just in front of the tir but should be just behind the tir. (without having received the light )

(edit: you beat me to that _the_ )
