Xeno E03?

"Bought" R5 version from Best-in-S%&t |( 3 months passed and I don't have the flashlight nor my money back |(

As for the light... I also heard great things about. For that price it's a steal. Z1 with XM-L is brighter than Xeno (with XM-L too, of course), but quality of Z1 is worse. Very floody light, btw. I still want R5 version tho.

I just got the one I ordered today. I'll do a full review shortly. Haven't had a chance to open the package yet.

I recieved my blue xeno e03 xm-l from tacticalhid.com yesterday. Even on alkies it is very impressive but on li-ions it is a damn pocket rocket. Very floody but sheer brightness makes up for that. Quality is outstanding! I recommend this light hands down. It makes my yezl z1 look like a $2 piece of junk! I got the cool white t6.Only downside so far is the lack of true low mode but it still goes low enough for me:)

Does anyone have R5 version to compare?

I got a warm one (XM-L T4). I like it so far. I just don't like that there's no real low on 14500. I really bought it with the intention to give it to my wife or daughter, so it'll be using nimh anyway. Good build quality.

I got the red cool tint. it really is bright floody. I wish there was mode memory as it always starts at M-L-H. I zip tied it to my hat so i can use it for work as a headlamp. the low can go much lower as well as the mid. Its got squared threads which work quite well. overall im happy with this light.

i just ordered a warm tint red one because of you guys

Is anyone talking about output on this light ?? what about tint ??

I'll get pictures up on my review probably tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, i can't turn off the white balance in my camera so you won't be able to tell tint from the pictures, but I'll add a short blurb about it. Even on my cool white, the tint is pretty nicely skewed toward neutral. It is very slightly blue, but less so than my ITP C7. Reports of the warm tints are that they are a very warm yellow.

An interesting thread is floating around at CPF about the Xeno. I didn't realize that the light had changed from XP-G to XM-L

I wish I had bought one when you could get an XP-G for $30, I would assume way better runtime and it looks like the XP-G throws better as well

Interesting. My C7 has almost white tint, but yes, on a cold side. If Xeno CW is less blue than C7, then I think will be better buying this instead of NW, will gain 7% more light :D Thanks for the comparison, Sir ;)

Those who have NW, what can you tell about tint? White on warm side (yellow or orange tint)?

trooplewis, you can still buy R5 version :D

The R5's I've seen are all $40 or so, too much for me.

There really isn't that much differnce between my E03 and C7. It is slight and it could be that my particular C7 ended up on the cooler side of the bin and my E03 on the warmer side of the bin since there is still a bit of range within each bin. My E03 still has the same trouble as many XM-l lights of having a weird purple fringe on the spill. I only really notice on a white wall at short range, though.

trooplewis good thing is How2 is covering you back you can get Xeno in Black and Blue for $33.80 and if you use "bob10" coupon you will get it for $30.42

But make sure you contact them as the black one has the blue pic and the Bluck one has the Black pic.

Nope, ask Jason, I'm sure it will sell you one for old price ;)

Nice find, how2 ;)

Damn, bad news then :(( Really hate it, my UF dropin has the same purple spill :~ Perhaps in NW version it will be less noticeable?

Can't say for sure. But those with the warm whites seem really happy with them. If you don't mind that really warm yellow, you could go that route.

Nope, need/want whitest beam possible. I think WW will be to yellow/orange for me. (like incan bulb, right?)

I havent really noticed any purple on my cool white. ill try it tonight and look for it.

Just received my E03 warm white. First thing i noticed is the damn GITD tailcap. Looks totally out of place on my red colour E03. So I just put a red rubber cap on it....it fits! I do not mean you open the screw in the tailcap and pull out the rubber.... just put the new rubber cap on top of the GITD one, it fits just nice. heh.... Just a 10 seconds job. You can change out for black nearly instantaneously as well.

The warm white is really good. There is no wierd tint when at ultra low (I am currently on 1.2V nimh), the warm white just stays the same tint. No PMW flicker as well, coz its using current reg. Really good. It just looks like a incan bulb, no green tint, no pinkish hue.

A low mode on warm white is good, coz our brain is very adapt at seeing a warm white colour temp when at very low light levels, eg a candle, or a incan room. Cool white is good for blasting 2000 lumens in a room but not good for low light levels, it looks wierd and very errie.
