I need a 3 volt CR123 rechargeable recomendation.

I have these two Radio Shack CR123 3 volt batteries not 16340 3.7 volt, I have been using in my weapon light for years and they both decided to die on me. Preplanned obsolescence at it's finest within 24 hours both croaked on me one last night and one today. Can anyone recommend a 3 volt CR123 rechargeable not a 16340 3.7 volt.

Are you looking for an alternative brand of battery? Because Radio shack should still stock those.

Oops, nevermind, didn't realize you were looking for rechargeable ones, must read more carefully...

They did not have them at the local Radio Shack or online but I would gladly buy those again if I could find them.

Those Tenergy are a good idea if you can't find any locally. The ones from the shack are pretty expensive anyway.

Lighthound also has one.

EDIT: Lighthoud is currently out of stock :(

Thanks guys I will order the ones from Battery Junction and I can pick up that TerraLUX clipstar I have been wanting to get for a mod host. Awesome try to buy some batteries and end up with another flashlight.

If you are looking for something cheaper and local lowes sells surefire cr123 cheaper than anywhere else that I know locally. It is not cheap in the grand skeem but if you are in a bind they are cheaper then bomber shack.

I was really hoping someone actually owned these rechargeables and had some experience with them. I have a couple Tenergy lion 3.7v 16340s and 10440s, but they don't put out as many amps as Trustfire flames. Those Radio Shack batteries were very expensive, but they were well over ten years old and had taken hundreds of charges. I have tons of regular CR123s that will do the job for now it just seams like a waste if I can get a couple decent rechargeables in there.

I do have a couple of sets of the Tenergy cells and while I agree they are agressive in rating them I still think they will have no problem out performing the radioshack models. The RS are marked 400mAh while the Tenergy are rated at 900 and probably realistically are 750mAh.

I bought this at Dinodirect.

4 pack $8.00 + FS

My Tenergy RCR123A are 3.2 volts. I don't use them much so . . . thought I'd add this useless post.

Foy

i have 4 tenergy rcr123a lifepo4 batteries i use every day. i use them in my ecig. im not sure how they compare to other rechargeables, but 2 last me a day. i have been using the 4 i have for over 6 months, so say 180 days, 90 charges each

id recomend them. you can get um fairly cheap on ebay too

from what ive gathered, 3v are non rechargeable, 3.2v are the lifepo4, and 3.7v are li-ion. the lifepo4 are supposed to be a safe, rechargeable, direct replacement to primary cr123a cells

Rat Shack in Portsmouth had the last 2 of them on the shelf pretty dusty. I charged them up and they work fine in the laser xenon Glock light. They give off 3.2 volts when fully charged so they don't fry anything, regular lions give 4.2 volts.

Hey E1320,

PM me your address....I've a half-dozen or so 3V rechargeable batteries that I'm no longer using. Some are fine, some may not hold a charge....but you can have 'em, if you would like. Free to a good home, or even yours.

Thanks man i appreciate the offer but this post was resurected from May so I am all set now, but thanks again.

No prob. Let me know if you change your mind.

Sorry about hijacking your thread, but has anyone tried these 3V rechargeables in Solarforce Skyline I?

Common sense says 2 x ~3.2V should be inside "tolerances" for 6.0V maximum. OTOH Solarforce sales support said that anything over 6.0V will fry the led.

I started using the Tenergy 900mAh 3.0 "RCR"123s over a year ago. They are great batteries. However, they are standard 3.7 volt lithium ion cells but the PCB knocks the output down to 3.0 volts within 12ms of being loaded. they worked flawlessly in my Streamlight PT2L. Several people at my place of business were so impressed with the battery/charger/light combination that five people have the same Streamlight and Tenergy RCR123 combination.

I actually gave my Streamlight and the Tenergy batteries/charger to a friend since he liked the light as my Spark SL6 is my EDC now. He is very pleased with the combination also and carries the light with him every day. I recommend these chargers and cells to everyone.
