The King is dead? Long live the Warrior!!

aaww man when i promise myself to not buy any 3x emitter light and this light appear?
|(

yeah. Current draw is not impressive given the parallel cells. If the heatsinking is good though, itā€™ll make a sweet host!!

thats exactly what i was thinking!
lets hope it does not get hot like the rest of the multi emitter coke can style lights.

they need to make a clone of the shadow sl3 though!!

Well, it says 10w in the specs. I hope it isnā€™t 10w in total.

Canā€™t stand them either. They might be the next best thing since sliced bread but they look tacky.

I still would buy one if I didnā€™t already have a bunch of multi-emitters. I think this would make a great first buy and I have had really good luck with Fandyfire products. Itā€™s still tempting because of the infinitely variable part. If only it was infinitely more bright. 8)

I will wait until you recieve yours before i pull the trigger and buy one of these. looks interesting though !

Iā€™m already trying to decide how to mod mine.

I see myself longing for 4 XM-Lā€™s, and the addition of a handle. I always liked the look of them, much to the dismay of others

The buttons also look a little odd. I would like to see some GITD controls.

Very cool light though, with a great price to boot!

I sure hope the price doesnā€™t suddenly go up.

Iā€™m torn on this oneā€¦

Really like the color scheme, but I agree the buttons look too tall and probably spongy. Would prefer the low profile electronic switch on my King/UV-S5.

Also agree that the control panel is a little large and looks more proportional to its big brother.

3x18650 size is probably better in hand than my 4x18650 UV-S5. Donā€™t have a Darth, but I have wanted one.

Mode order sounds like a potential flaw. Not sure about draw/power either. Very curious to see the reviews on this one.

I'm almost afraid to admit to not owning a 3*XML light in this company/forum but at that price things might have to change.

Waiting on another no doubt fine review here from JohnnyMac before making any decision.

It's only an impression based on a photograph, but I personally think the control panel buttons look tall, "plasticy" and toyish.

Does anyone else think the threads appear to be anodised so there may be a twist to lockout? I'd think that would be essential with those bloody great buttons sitting up there.

Agree that it's a shame to see the Strobe in the main cycle rather than hidden. Not the best use of a two-button UI (IMO) but at under $40 it's hard to imagine any of the "get-em-out-there-fast" fast manufacturers being too concerned about niceties like that.

Joining the queue to read about it all in a fortnight or so!

if it's the same as the L3, it has only 2 modes.(non flashy) You can set the first mode as you desire, but that's not a whole lot better than the king imho.

I hope it does get hot! I donā€™t want it to be under driven.

Almost no finning on it so I'd expect it to get hot if driven hard.

The UI looks great. With memory of ramping modeā€¦ blue is in this yearā€¦ niceā€¦

As soon as someone reminds me of the FT discount code, it will be on the way. One good point about this light if someone is trying to keep costs down is it only uses 3 batteries instead of 4. Was showing an uncle some 4 cell lights the other day and informed him of the light price, plus the battery price. Premium batteries cost almost as much as the lights.

The discount code is BLF

My wife just gave me back my credit card now Iā€™ve been able to hide small orders. But now you through this eye candy out there ?! Lol

Thanks JM, ordered.

At least if I order now, I will get an ā€œoriginalā€ copy of the original. If it isnā€™t up to my expectations and someone else comes up with an improvementā€¦so be it!
What I canā€™t stand is getting a fake, of a fake, of a fake. Then I feel cheated, in fact I have very little confidence in any of the older lights. From here on in, nothing but 1st edition fakes for me!
