The King is dead? Long live the Warrior!!

I’m torn on this one…

Really like the color scheme, but I agree the buttons look too tall and probably spongy. Would prefer the low profile electronic switch on my King/UV-S5.

Also agree that the control panel is a little large and looks more proportional to its big brother.

3x18650 size is probably better in hand than my 4x18650 UV-S5. Don’t have a Darth, but I have wanted one.

Mode order sounds like a potential flaw. Not sure about draw/power either. Very curious to see the reviews on this one.

I'm almost afraid to admit to not owning a 3*XML light in this company/forum but at that price things might have to change.

Waiting on another no doubt fine review here from JohnnyMac before making any decision.

It's only an impression based on a photograph, but I personally think the control panel buttons look tall, "plasticy" and toyish.

Does anyone else think the threads appear to be anodised so there may be a twist to lockout? I'd think that would be essential with those bloody great buttons sitting up there.

Agree that it's a shame to see the Strobe in the main cycle rather than hidden. Not the best use of a two-button UI (IMO) but at under $40 it's hard to imagine any of the "get-em-out-there-fast" fast manufacturers being too concerned about niceties like that.

Joining the queue to read about it all in a fortnight or so!

if it's the same as the L3, it has only 2 modes.(non flashy) You can set the first mode as you desire, but that's not a whole lot better than the king imho.

I hope it does get hot! I don’t want it to be under driven.

Almost no finning on it so I'd expect it to get hot if driven hard.

The UI looks great. With memory of ramping mode… blue is in this year… nice…

As soon as someone reminds me of the FT discount code, it will be on the way. One good point about this light if someone is trying to keep costs down is it only uses 3 batteries instead of 4. Was showing an uncle some 4 cell lights the other day and informed him of the light price, plus the battery price. Premium batteries cost almost as much as the lights.

The discount code is BLF

My wife just gave me back my credit card now I’ve been able to hide small orders. But now you through this eye candy out there ?! Lol

Thanks JM, ordered.

At least if I order now, I will get an “original” copy of the original. If it isn’t up to my expectations and someone else comes up with an improvement…so be it!
What I can’t stand is getting a fake, of a fake, of a fake. Then I feel cheated, in fact I have very little confidence in any of the older lights. From here on in, nothing but 1st edition fakes for me!

Hi gentleman,

Pl take note. Another place to purchase this similar product. But it is a Solarstorm.

Any discount codes for Wallbuys?

Hey they did the price match, at least much better than the $52 they asked yesterday. I hope they also price matched the 3400s.

for the code look at the WB deals thread.

Takes too much time to copy and paste using a tablet

Doesn't work, seems to work, didn't work!

- Applying the code shows $0.00 discount => :(
- Refreshing the cart page (old trick) shows $3.80 (10% discount) => :)
- Going to paypal shows total of $38.00 (no discount, well.. maybe it updates when I return to WB, didn't!!) =>

=> Yes, I accidentally ordered it with $38. Don't make the same mistake!

qsfkbussaqrt is discount code for WB 10% off, not working for me before or after refresh.

Edit: did get code to work by switching from ems to hk post, then switched back to ems, discount disappears when I go to paypal.

...but PayPal shows $38.. :(

Was fasttech set xml u2 and wallbuys xm-l2?

Looks both the same ?

Fancyflashlights have the XML2 version. For a 30$ more

Also, I suppose it will be more difficult to change the driver in this one opposed to the King.

This has 2 electronic buttons, the SRK only 1.
