The King is dead? Long live the Warrior!!

Specs say it is 85mm head, 77mm reflector & 110mm wide counting the handle

Damn, I was really hoping the larger switch was a "master" clicky switch, and the smaller switch was momentary for changing modes. Unscrewing the body slightly on the SRK to prevent battery drain is kind of hokey to me.

Isn't that what it is???

The UI says to press and hold the large button to turn on/off, or maybe just to turn off? Either way, it's an electronic/momentary switch :(

Big button 1sec to go to first mode, second click to high mode.

Small switch is momentary on, High, release it and it's off.

Threads are anodized and therefore a twist to the head and it's a lock out.

When in 1st mode, you can use the smallest button to let the light start ramping, and stop at your desired output.

This will memorize the setting.

That's how it worked with my L3, so I guess it's the same.

Low PWM.

I'm still confused.

-Garry

Sorry that it wasn't clear enough, where did you get lost?

Oh, so the big button is a "Power" button - hold a sec to turn on & off. Tap to change between "first mode" (your memorized ramping level) & then high. That it? Another tap to go from high to the "first mode"?

-Garry

That's basically it.

Big power. Small for ramping, and momentary on.

Only 2 modes. Same as SRK, except you can change the desired output.

If it had 3 modes that would be a big plus, but it doesn't, and pwm low is probably as low as the SRK.

they might have changed the UI, but I guess it will just be the same..

I'd swap those buttons if I get one.

I don’t know why so many people are turning up there noses because of the blue buttons. A button swap probably costs 42¢.

Not because of the color, but they really feel squashy.

It feels wobbly, that's all. I don't mind the color at all.

It's also adding the difficult part of changing the driver if desired. 2buttons vs 1.

If you use TP’s new driver you can just not use one of the switches. Just because it has two switches doesn’t mean you have to use them.

True!

will texaspyros driver fit in this light?

Has anybody received theirs yet? Just found a package in my mailbox.

Nope, still waiting. :open_mouth:

Would be nice to get some update on this light before Pulsar closes his GB for M6…
Any thoughts on parasitic drain?

P.S. SolarStorm warrior II @ WB is now 53.03$ WTF :expressionless:

Mine arrived today. Freakin sweet! Puts out between 2150 & 2200 OTF. Hotspot is super sharp compared to the King and it feels much smaller than the King. Threads are clean, deep, smooth as butter, and fully anodized so you can lock Iit out for zerp parasitic drain. Just 5-10 degrees locks it out. The buttons are smaller than you think so good luck finding replacements if you dont like them. I like it better than the SRK stock. The ramping feature lets you choose any output level for your custom mode. Long press turns it on and off so you don't have to cycle through the modes to turn it off. Maching is clean and crisp. The ano is even and consistent. The reflectors are clean and smooth. A real bargain for $35! I almost forgot to mention the AR coated lens. ;)

Does it remember custom set level after lock out?
