scrap the amc's and use something better (not sure if thats possible for the application though)
For what I'm working on, AMC7135s are the best choice I've been able to find. They work alright, they just have a really crappy lead-frame that is ridiculously easy to damage.
And I thought that I was the only one… forget clean rework/salvage on those little goomers… particularly if you soldered the tab.

Nope, you're definitely not the only one. The lead-frame is made out of rice-plastic and pot metal, I think. The ONLY way I've been successful at rework is using hot-air..

I am drinking lots of water! Especially in this heat it is important to stay hydrated.
It is rare now I even drink white peony tea, because of the caffeine.
