The King is dead? Long live the Warrior!!

I received mine yesterday, man does this thing burns and I do mean burns, pointed the beam at my hand (~1cm distance) and I can feel the heat after only 2-3 seconds, after 10 second it starts to be uncomfortable, I suspect that after 30-40 second my hand would start roasting :open_mouth:

@Ouchyfoot What color are the battery indicator LEDs? I’ve seen pics that they looked red. You’d think they would be blue or white, to match the boot color, no?

Mine are orange…

Wow my Solar Storm Warrior look yellow to me, asked my son to make sure I wasn’t color blind and he agreed on yellow too.

Three reports, three separate colors... That's good consistency

Still would like one

You know, I didn’t even pay attention to the LEDs while I had the cover plate off, but I believe they’re white. They appear green because of th blue silicone they are shining through.

Why can't the silicone cover be cut and two normal round switch boots be used while re-using the strip containing the power indicator thingies?

My yellow lights:

Looks greenish yellow as I’m seeing it here Johnny, thanks for the pic! I’d still like one too!

Mine are yellowy orange, and a hint of green…yeah I can see a bit of all three colors in them, but predominantly yellow to orange with a tinge of green. I’m guessing its probably dependent on how much of which of an uneven color mix got formed into the silicone, and which of the mixed colors is more strong you your eyes… for example Johnny’s look greenish yellow to me too and I might say green is strongest if that were my Warrior, but not to Johnny’s eyes.

All of mine look dirty yellow, kind of muddy brown yellow, a hint of lime green but look more yellow than green.

The indicator leds are not very accurate at letting you know battery capacity. All 3 of the ones I have act differently. On 1 of the 3, 1 indicator goes out are 10 minutes of use, others run more like 30 minutes before one goes out. The 2nd indicator goes out shortly after the first on all 3. The indicators are kind of neat but not very accurate.

Has anyone pulled it open to take a look at the driver yet?!
It would be the first thing I’d do.

Thanks for the button pics.
Those indicator leds are just calling out to be customized! …. Ok, the whole thing is calling out to be customized!

Whats under the button pcb?

Interesting, where did you get yours? And what kind of batteries are you using? And how are you using the light? Because the indicator lights are tied to voltage (afaik), one big issue is if you have used the light for a while and then let the cells “rest” it will take a while to get the “true” reading, and the lower you have it on the longer it takes.

Other that the above, mine seem relatively accurate, I’m using Panasonic 2900 mAh’s from a laptop pull and take a reasonably equal time between each indicator going out to one, on the two runs I kept it on high almost the whole time, but I turn it off shortly after one. With the voltage example though, if I then turn off the light at one light and let it rest before turning back on, it will be at 4, and if I keep it on low, it takes a little while to go down lights, one by one back to one. If I put it on high though, it goes down relatively quickly to the “true” reading. If it is on 3 lights when I turn it off to rest, it takes even more time to register at 3 lights.

My second light (this one from the new batch) is just as awesome as the first one. I would say the beam is slightly warmer than the original though. Only enough to notice in a side by side beamshot.

Got mine yesterday….awesome light.
Noticed one of the emitters stays dimly lit for a few seconds after turning the light off. Is this anything to be concerned about?

it sounds like the driver is leaking

Just chiming in here but my indicators are also amber through the blue silicone.

Just a question, does your warrior sometimes do not turns off when you press on the power button ? Just like you clicked beside of the button under the rubber

I think mine works correctly but sometimes i have to try a second time to get the light to turn on….nothing to worry i think, the blue rubber button is probably getting in the way sometimes…just being picky.

Otherwise astonishing light, i just ordered another.
