Review: Lumintop SD10 1D/3x AA/32650/26650/18650 "Household Searchlight"

interesting! so with 3 eneloop you should get about 6 amp hours +/-

thats about half what a D cell is i believe but still another cool option!

the graph is from another review on CPF - i have no idea how to do such a thing LOL

Depends on the capacity of the D cell. You could use 3 Turnigy 2400mAh AA

Nice Review  any good sources selling this light ?

nice review, nice light, nice camera work….glad you got one.
i really like the size and look of this light, just not the price tag it comes with. still a maybe though, ill see.

I agree. I like everything except the price.

i think we will start seeing these pop up on wall buys and other vendors soon… i would expect to see these drop into the 40$ price range soon

I’ll buy when they go under $25

IMO not likely to happen, unless some magical mega-group buy happens, for that price Id buy 2 or 3 :D!

BTW, Wallbuys has it for 59$, not cheap.

Cheapest Ive found, as I said earlier, has been 47$ ;)!

I bought mine from hkequipement.net on 3 Aug 13.

Start using it from 24 Aug13. Use it every day as night light. Using low mode with a silicon diffuser.

Then two days ago (12 Sep 13), it suddenly refuses to turn on. The power switch still give green light when press on.

Tried with 3 x AAA with adaptor, Li-Ion 32850, D Cell and 1 x AA using AA to D Cell adaptor but the SD10 still won’t turn on.

KD has it for lowest price now - http://kaidomain.com/product/details.S022428

Just wondering if 10 lumens will satisfy the ‘low is not low enough’ crowd, of which I may be a member.

Not even close, not unless there's a firefly mode below it.

I had a feeling, Mr.“The low mode should be lower.”

The more I read of this light, the more I want one. Good job, jmPaul.

thanks rusty

I just got a SD10, the switch makes no click at all, but modes change when switch is pushed. Is it normal for the switch to not click?

Yes, that’s the original version switch that you received. The updated version is the one that makes an audible click.

Correct me if I’m wrong, jmpaul; but couldn’t you run 3 x 14500 cells (3.7v) in parallel and get the full output as in using a single 26650 cell? I noticed full output on 3 x eneloops (in series) only gets you 500 lumens, tops.

Any idea where I can get the updated version for sure? Preferably in NW.
