the smallest and brightest single 18650 xml pocket rocket

best pocket rocket lil flame thrower around is a modded convoy m1 by Tom E
i purchased my convoy m1 thru FT. sent it to tom to mod, the numbers are now 1142 lumens at 3.42 amps.

but that eagletac is something im gonna consider as well, i love the side switch

+2 or +3 I'm not sure which.

I would still take the SC600II for up close, indoors, but outside or with any distance it's absolutely a no contest situation.

I will be sending mine to Vinh shortly to mod, but I'm very impressed with it stock.

I also highly suggest getting one medium or high end flashlight, over trying to make due with cheaper flashlights. Lights are meant to be banged up IMHO so I'd rather have one that does evey after it falls down once or twice.

Starts to look more and more like cpf. Sorry guys..

It's not too hard to get over 1000 lumens if you can solder. Build up a host with the 8x7135 nangj105 driver and add a few more 7135's and use thicker emitter wires. XM-L2 on a Noctigon mcpcb. It'll cost less than $40.

ShiningBeam S-mini has one of the smallest diameters of any 18650 flashlight I know. I got it because it could fit on my fenix headband and it was small enough to fit on my bike helmet. It is short but not the shortest because it is still a clicky. It is comfortable to carry in a pocket and comes with detachable clip and a holster. The light is floody and a little warm which I almost prefer.

How about Convoy S8 for $17.26

This is my favorite mod for the form factor you are talking about, details here: http://www.fasttech.com/reviews/1311101/2409. Basically it's what leaftye is saying. You could go with a cheaper host, but I really like this one. Even 800 lumens in a 18650 EDC of this size is impressive - built quite a few and it gets amazing responses from anyone who sees one in action, specially with the custom modes I program, down to moonlight.

Mr Sirius recommendation is seriously good.
+1

Hi Tom
Im curious , What driver and emitter do you use?
hi..yes,i know both of them, but i wanted something cheaper..i will sooner or later damage it in any coal mine i am afraid..
Tested using Convoy S2 6xAMC7135 2 group driver

How about convoy S2? on that store you could choose Cool White / Neutral White emitter. I suggest to take max with 6 x AMC7135, during my runtime test it's get really hot on high mode that you can't comfortably hold it on your hand.

Pro's (+):
Pocket clip could be purchased separately, Tail Stand even with forward switch but a bit unstable, anodized thread so you can do lockout, anodized is great, best bang for the buck

Con's (-): Knurling just aesthetic quite slippery does not provide good traction, pill made from brass which is having worst heat transfer compared with aluminum and copper, heat sink is not large enough to handle more than 2,1A current.

Lol, blows it out of the water? 965 vs 900 OTF lumens, one throws one floods. Different lights for different applications…

well,the convoy s8 looks fantastic…i like,if it is more special-the s3 and s2 are just tubes:)
this looks more aggressive…shame, that its so long…but, probably my fave from your ideas…i dont understand, why only aliexpress is selling it? i didnt found it on fasttech.,…

The seller on aliexpress is the manufacturer. It's a brand new model and very few of us have had our S8 orders delivered yet. Fasttech might carry it later.

i didnt read the op, only the title.

so my recommendation for the smallest and brightest single 18650 xml pocket rocket is

Eagletac TX25C2 which is a xml2 pocket rocket. i had reviewed it earlier. 1000 Fenix lumens. see also selfbuilt's lumens tables, he had the xml2 NW neutralwhite model.

I listed all the parts in that linked review (?). The Nanjg driver is this: fasttech 8-amc7135, and the emitter is an XM-L2 U2, but not sure what bin 1A or 1C - might be a fake one from KD or good one from IS.

In the the examples brother and I own the difference is even more. Brother owns the latest Sc600 MKII. It tested out at 800 lumens at 30 sec. In the same lightbox and with same meter, my TX25C2 tested 1095 lumens at 30 sec. Since the big difference between the two, brother bought himself a TX25C2. His tested a fair amount lower than mine, 995 lumens at 30 seconds, but even there he is almost 200 lumens higher then the SC600. And these numbers are repeatable - tested them all several times with the same basic results.
The zebralight is a very sweet light with awesome flood. Has a more user friendley side clicky than the kinda hard to find button on the TX25C2. But the TX25C2’s easily out power the SC600 MKII’s and KILL it in throw.
Personally I think they are both great lights though.

Baaah, I’m so gonna end up buying both…thanks for the info

yes, this will be my choice probably…if this kind torch could be a little bit shorter, this could be the way…really good model.i like it…
