I agree. I like everything except the price.
i think we will start seeing these pop up on wall buys and other vendors soon… i would expect to see these drop into the 40$ price range soon
I’ll buy when they go under $25
IMO not likely to happen, unless some magical mega-group buy happens, for that price Id buy 2 or 3 :D!
BTW, Wallbuys has it for 59$, not cheap.
Cheapest Ive found, as I said earlier, has been 47$ ;)!
I bought mine from hkequipement.net on 3 Aug 13.
Start using it from 24 Aug13. Use it every day as night light. Using low mode with a silicon diffuser.
Then two days ago (12 Sep 13), it suddenly refuses to turn on. The power switch still give green light when press on.
Tried with 3 x AAA with adaptor, Li-Ion 32850, D Cell and 1 x AA using AA to D Cell adaptor but the SD10 still won’t turn on.
Just wondering if 10 lumens will satisfy the ‘low is not low enough’ crowd, of which I may be a member.
Not even close, not unless there's a firefly mode below it.
I had a feeling, Mr.“The low mode should be lower.”
The more I read of this light, the more I want one. Good job, jmPaul.

thanks rusty
I just got a SD10, the switch makes no click at all, but modes change when switch is pushed. Is it normal for the switch to not click?

Yes, that’s the original version switch that you received. The updated version is the one that makes an audible click.
spaceboy:Here is a carrier you can use with this light running the 3 AA in parellel rather than series, for longer run time:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181152170832?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&\_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
interesting! so with 3 eneloop you should get about 6 amp hours +/-
thats about half what a D cell is i believe but still another cool option!
Correct me if I’m wrong, jmpaul; but couldn’t you run 3 x 14500 cells (3.7v) in parallel and get the full output as in using a single 26650 cell? I noticed full output on 3 x eneloops (in series) only gets you 500 lumens, tops.
Any idea where I can get the updated version for sure? Preferably in NW.

you could, but a 26650 or 32650 would provide more runtime

I dont think theres NW version out there, at least mine is definitely WW one ;)!
If search button returned no data regarding NW availability from usual retailers, perhaps contact Lumintop and see if they can help you out with this?
I was referring to this one: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/22188
I actually intended to post my question there but didn't check the correct thread... I'll post it there, too.

Not even close. It's too much by 1-3 orders of magnitude.
I was referring to this one: Review: Lumintop SD10 (2nd generation) XM-L2 NW 1xD/3xAA/1x32650/1x26650/1x18650

Ah, I see, I assumed that admins review is about the same version that I reviewed a while ago, hence why I only paid attention to parts of his review that I was interested in and glided above the explanation about it being Lumintops 2nd attempt at neutral white :D!
Hmm, looks like there are now 3 versions of SD10? I wonder if the one that I reviewed has been released to general public and how many have been sold in general, white vs warm vs neutral?
Good to see that theres now true neutral white available to complement their regular white and warm white versions :D!
