New Olight SR96

No details and specs yet. It was mentioned in a shoudian.org forum by Olight, and then someone took picture of it during exhibition. And that guy didn’t take picture of the reflector :expressionless: , according to him, it is still confidential as it is not launched yet.

My guess is $399 for this monster, triple MT-G2 6000lm is next in line then.

Or Olight is going to change the led to MT-G2? 4200 lumens seems not so powerful, 5500 lumens OTF will be record breaking compare to their X6.

Hope to see the specifications. But how is the heat dissipation?

nice

  • anybody want to buy my Olight SR90 Intimidator so i can upgrade ? :money_mouth_face:

If they just stop using battery pack and let us use our own batteries that would be cost saver for us and I think they would be selling a lot more of their big lights.

I have left with ~4 euro’s on my bank account, would that be OK :stuck_out_tongue:

A semi-thrower?

Not anymore because it’s pricey!

hold on tight,it look like wont be cheap :open_mouth:

its prob going to be a triple mtg2

As much as I want a SR95 or now the SR96 (I like big lights) I have a hard time forking out that kind of dough for something I could build myself in an Chinese host for a fraction of the cost. That being said I still really want one.

I have a SR90, its still an impressive thrower, but like you said the price for these “big” lights is way up there.

When can I get one.

What is the other light in the picture? I'm having a hard time picturing the size of it...

The small one looks like a Olight S15 Baton.

It's 4800 Lumens now on their website.

Just read through everything about this light on their website.

It's going to be a spectacular flop.

Very anemic throw. Poor battery life, battery pack, low output after 10 minutes. (Relative to other lights out there.)

It’s pretty ugly

The head looks too short for the length of the body.

I really love it! It's a huge wall of light with an intense and large spill. SR96 is definitely a flooder.

Yesterday, I walked in a park nearby and targeted a sports field (about 50/20 meters). All area was illuminated like a stadium in night. Although the beam distance is pretty short (max 300 meters effective throw), SR96 produces an outstanding large and intense field of view.

In terms of portability, SR96 is relatively easy to carry in comparison with the RC40 mace, being suitable for trekking, forest landscape... But the best, in my opinion, is that of security activities due to its large spill.

Unfortunately I haven't a DSLR for beamshots. In pics below you can make an idea about dimension. From left to right: Niwalker Vostro BK-FA02, Armytek Barracuda, Olight SR96 and Fenix RC40
