It’s 5 1/2” overall length. It shocks peeps with its output let me tell you! It’s plenty throwy yet has enough usable spill to make it a little wonder. One aside, when I de-dome the XPG2’s on these I leave off the centering ring that comes with SG-R13.
I tend to just go direct drive on them with 22AWG but an occasional old-version 5-mode direct-drive on high Eastman-092 is sometimes in the repertoire.
A standard C8’s overall length for comparison with a 1” tube is 5 3/4” and really isn’t too comfortable to hold due to its aggressive knurling. 1/4” doesn’t sound like much but it is here. The RG-13 tube on the other hand is just 13/16” and smooth. A pleasure to hold and pocket! The rubber grip grommet off the SG-R13 tube is perfect. This overall setup just rocks IMO.

This thread shows what I cry about so often: the manufacturers don´t really design their lights, they just use random shapes and patterns without any idea behing it : /
These lego´d lights don´t look worse designed than the “real” ones, and thats not a good thing.
You can have a light which pleases your particular eyes but your eyes are different than somebody else’s, so with these budget lights it’s kinda hard to imagine Porsche or Ferrari design teams sitting around the table. lol
You can certainly do things to low cost lights which improves their original design but typically it requires some machinery and labors of love to get there. That’s one aspect of modding that’s fun which is to personalize a light to your aesthetic satisfaction.
I guess I don’t really expect things of ‘beauty’ out of these $15 gadgets so I can settle for something a lot better than a Ray-O-Vac plastic fantastic which most lights we deal with here are head and shoulders above in comparison. I think we’re getting pretty good looking stuff overall these days.

Do you have an example of what you consider a well-designed light and why it’s well designed?
I agree that aesthetics does not necessarily equate with good design. But I have found that oft time aesthetically pleasing things tend to be also well designed. Sometimes it depends who makes it too. lol

That’s nicer than alot of non lego’d lights!

Sry, but good design has nothing to do with personal taste.

Man this thread is awesome, giving me too many ideas for future builds. Anyone know what else fits a p60 body?
The parts being already discussed.

Only measures 22 3/4”.
I’m thinking of marketing this to the LA Dodgers so the boys can practice their hitting for away games on the airplane.

Is that the Defiant 5C with 2 5C tubes?
That thing is ridiculous! could make a good hotwire host maybe or a baseball bat

Three tubes connected is absolutely over the top unwieldy.

Am I the only one having trouble with nottawhackjob’s embedded images? They do not load for me unless I open them in a new tab first.
Still fine, still on a break. One day I’ll catch up with you folks! previous wight catchup

Most of the pics don’t show up for me. Could it be because its a old thread ?
You're not alone.
I can't see his pics unless I quote his post, and then open the image in a new tab.
By the way, I'm using Google Chrome.

That’s weird. I’m not sure if it’s BLF’s fault, ImageShack’s fault, or something else. The issue is that there should be a series of http redirects replacing (for example) “http://imageshack.com/a/img833/6540/ytrs.jpg” with “http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img833/6540/ytrs.jpg”. Clearly this is not happening in the actual posts. I’ll send SB a PM and see what the thought is on this.
