Do you think this will make much of a difference in final output?
XinTD X3 U2-1A for $31.03 (with coupon bgf141)
ChibiM: It says XM-L2 in every place on that page, and Neal just confirmed me that all tints are XM-L2.
sb: You won't notice it. :)
Just look at the XinTD pictures, there’re Simon Mao’s mark. Should be not bad, Convoy-XinTD X3 or XinTD-Convoy X3
Side by side, barely, but without both to compare with, not at all.
Hmm, my only reservation about buying the Xintd X3 is that the reviews mention that it doesn’t work with protected Li-Ions because of the longer length of the cells. I strongly prefer protected cells, so that’s kind of a downside.
RaceR86:Oh, and the Qlite also uses 8x380mA regulators= 3Amps on high
Regular nanjg 105C normally use 8x 350mA regulators= 2,8A (it could be using 380mA)
Do you think this will make much of a difference in final output?
3,04A-2,80A=0,24A extra.
In real life the difference is more like 0,15A extra based on what I have seen. (due to 350mA 7135s usually overperform, and the 380mA sometimes underperform. Qlite might also have a tad of PWM on high)
0,15A difference is close to nothing.. Its about 5% more current. Which probably is no more than 4% more light on high..
Thanks for the coupon code _the_.. Tempting, tempting... Im not supposed to buy this light...

I figured I'd make a guide related to XM-Ls and tint, binning, CRI, and all the other details I can think of. Tint There are 3 basic tints. Cool White is a very pure white and is what most lights are. This generally has a low CRI (color rendition index) and will not show colors that well. Some people say that it is to blue. It is generally around 6000k. Neutral White is considered to be one of the better tints as it still seems fairly white, but does have a higher CRI. It …
I found this pretty informative.

That's what I always use. However, flashlightwiki doesn't like hotlinking, so here's a link to the page: http://flashlightwiki.com/File:Ansi-white.jpg

For a description of those tints, basically, this is what I have found:
This post was also helpful: What LED tint do you prefer?
In my experience 5B can often be redder than a 4C. 5B is certainly warmer, but the balance between red and yellow in each can vary.
