Looking for the latests best thrower torch for on the lake.

Whats the latest and greatest thrower flashlight? I have the c8 from kaidomain, I love how useful it is, but I need something that will let me see long distances when boating at night on lakes.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in adavance.

Hs-802 R2 would be my choice for long range. Beware its like a white laser. Not very bright generally but exceptional throw. Great spot intensity. 300+m no problem. Need binoculars along however. XD

Alternatively a MRV Q5 sold cheap at manafont. I don't like XM-L for long range application (at least in budget segment).

How about Dereelight DBS V3 aspheric, XR-E R2. Not cheap at usd79 shipped, but hey then you will own a Dereelight.

an aquaintance recently dropped his jetbeam BC40, while on, into about four feet of dirty Charles River water. it went down into the muck. he then, calmly, fished it out, rinsed it off and went ahead with his survey without a backward glance.

i immediately wanted one.

two modes, one for all around work and then, BOOM, high that is impressive. shiningbeam has them for <70usd. thats a lot for a light (for me) but my buddy didnt even flinch when it went underwater, thats gotta be worth something.

Throw is mostly about diameter, so the STL-V6 might be quite a thrower.

An aspheric of 50+ mm should beat it though, as aspherics are superior at the same diameter.

+1 for the BC40, got mine over at lightjunction.com for $62 shipped with savecpf12 discount code. Very high quality light. Jetbeams are pretty much indestructible,or the UF 980L, great thrower.

Thanks for the options, Yes the C8 is an xml

Try the TrustFire X8. Supposed to be a wicked thrower. Search for reviews in the 18650 section.

The jetbeam bc40 is a slightly pricier light that actually makes sense. Other than the X8 and Xtar R01 T6 (and 3 xml light, lol), there are pretty much no regulated xml lights that cost less. DD xml's are too easy to make and high current regulators just expensive enough (>$1, lol) that the crappy shanzhai manufactures don't bother using them.
