I just wanted to say real quick that i received my two dropins on saturday. i havent gotten a lot of time to play with them nor do i have a lot of time to write a review but ill say at first glance, these are top notch. For the price these are being offered at they are a steal. ill be back with a review later.

Excellent thanks HID45. :)

I am really glad you like them please update when you get a chance to test them some more.

Thanks Bob you are correct the Manafont, DX and KD XM-L drop ins all have a multicolored corona. My drop ins have a even colored smooth beam all the way across. I should have parts to do another batch of XM-L 1Ds next week and some XP-G 3Ds also if anyone is interested.

Here is a beam shot of my drop ins except for the far right one is an SB Romisen RC C3 .

far left----------1A-------------------------1D-------------------------------3D------------------------5C

I actually just ordered the parts to start doing the driver programming. I haven't written any code since I graduated college in 99, but I am looking forward to playing around with Tidos code as soon as my parts arrive.

Same as the XM-L ones standard P-60 drop in just uses a different reflector.

Received a 1A tint drop-in yesterday and couldn't be happier.

I also promised E1320 I'd give my impressions sooo...

As mentioned previously the usual spectrum shift across the spill is not present & even the 1A tint does not display any blue or green in the beam.

Very good build quality...everything is solid with good soldering & the emitter is well centered.

Definitely brighter than a Thrunite 1.5A XM-L P60 and from the eyeball test it's in the same ball park with a 2.5A SST-50. It might be a bit brighter but would need to meter it to be certain. I've been a bit late to the harder driven XM-L party so those are the closest drop-ins I have to compare it to.

E1320 also knocked off a few bucks because of a slight blemish on the dome which is completely unnoticeable in the beam itself.

All in all a very good product at a fantastic price from a great guy to work with.

I just did another batch of 1A and 1D and I had a bad driver so I have 8 chips and can add an extra chip for 3.1 amp max if you want.

Also I have some slightly used Manafont/Ultrafire 3 mode XML drop ins for sale for $15 dollars each with the purchase of one of my homemade drop ins.

1a more neutral? i may be wrong, but that is my guess. let me know which is which, i will take one. thanks.

by the way. thanks.

cabfrank scroll up there is a picture of the actual drop in beams 1D is more neutral send me a pm when you decide 1A or 1D, 2.8 or 3.1 amp

On the multimeter the number looks much more impressive otherwise there is no perceivable difference in light output. I had some extra 7135 chips so I figured WTH continuous improvement.

I just want to update everyone still interested in these drop ins. I have received my programming materials and I will be offering custom mode configuration. If you are interested in a custom mode drop in send me a PM and I can try to get it to work for you. I also can stack chips to have say 3.5 amps max on high with a super moon low, the possibilities are very interesting to say the least. I am also going to do a batch of XPG R4 in 3D tint.

The stacked driver sounds interesting !

Since I got my new soldering iron I have successfully added chips to a couple drivers. I just made a 10 chip 3.5 amper for oldbobk. If I can just get my programming to work so I can add a super low mode I will have my ideal driver 5 mode no strobes or flashies super low evenly stepped all the way to a 3.8 amp high.

I really like how you added the chip straddling the bottom two that is a very good idea.

I should probably buy that 16 mode driver so I can copy the file, I have successfully copied the driver programs it's loading them that is giving me fits right now.

8x7135 + 4 more 7135

My soldering iron is a club [ ordered a new one ] and my attempt at stacking failed [ old soldering iron ]

I have a dual XM-L U2 Drop in that needs more current . 4A would be sweet . http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=10995 is this the driver you are using ?

Yes that driver with this soldering iron

I got a AOYUE 936 soldering station from Amazon, this is a Chinese knockoff of the Hakko 936.

with this tip from KD makes it a breeze to stack chips.

I ruined a couple drivers trying to stack chips with my old iron.
